Sheikh Mansour came to a game,
In a Lear jet,
Had enough of stupid songs,
And left on 78.
That's hilarious!
Better now I've fixed the typos.

I doubt he needs an invite.

It was more enjoyable in the old days without the pressure of every match being a "must win", people complaining about a draw away at Arsenal and feeling down at the though of "only winning the league cup" and storming out of the ground if we go behind in the second half.

Sheikh Mansour Invite Letter Etihad

Picture the scene - Sat 20th Jan 2007. I sat in the East Stand staring blankly at the scoreboard with 5 mins to go at C.O.M.S with the score reading Man City 0 Blackburn 2. Another agonising home defeat beckoned under the Pearce era. A painful truth dawned on me: after 29 years of suffering, this was simply as good as it's ever going to get. Whilst "City 'Til I Die" was a given, there would be no silverware, no parades, more yo-yoing between divisions and if lucky, the very occasional braggging rights to celebrate.

Fast forward 7 years & I've experienced moments of unbridled joy beyond my wildest imagination. For the rough diamond that was Samaras, we now have the finished prouct in Kun Aguero, for the wizard that was Buster Phillips, we now have a real magician pulling the strings in midfield. For defenders of the reputation of Michael Frontzeck, we now genuinely have two of the best defenders in the world.

Since September 2008, myself and 44,087 other City fans (plus some bin dippers moaning about the price of parking near the ground) have welcomed Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Etihad just once, in August 2010. Since that solitary visit, we've won 5 Domestic Trophies and built a lasting platform which will see us grow from strength to strength in the long-term. More importantly, Sheikh Mansour's investment has put us firmly on the world football map.

I think it's time we do our level best to get Sheikh Mansour back at the start of the new season, so we can really thank him in true blue style. Forums, Twitter, Facebook, 1894 group....whatever works to get the message across. A 44,000 line receiving line stretching down Joe Mercer Way to shake His Highness's hand might be pushing it. However, it would be fanstastic if the fans and the Club can unite on this, and persuade our owner to come back to witness first-hand how grateful we are for all that he's done to take us to where we are today.

Hear Hear Blue, count me in:)

If he doesnt come more often, take his card off him.

I bet he has Platinum.

I would never go anywhere where there is a a chance someone will mimic by attire dressed up in a white robe and a teatowel - thinking it is both respectful or funny. Never understood that. Manchester weather isn't geared up for Abu Dhabi/middle-eastern style clothing.
