" It’s hard to get past the money and the idea that are buying their way to a title"

How much have they spent over the years?
Over the life of the Premiership, their gross spend is over £550m, which is only behind us (£655m) and Chelsea (£729m). When you take Transfer Price Inflation into account they've probably spent more than us in real terms.

And they've bought how many Premiership titles exactly?

I doubt they are talking of gross spend.

LittlewoodsPools FC.

Every trophy they ever won, they bought with money from their sugar daddy.

And as for their famous history..........

City were formed five years before LittlewoodsPools FC
City won their first FA Cup 61 years before LittlewoodsPools FC
City won their first League Cup 11 years before LittlewoodsPools FC
City won their first European trophy 3 years before LittlewoodsPools FC

Great facts! Thanks for sharing.

David Moores the ex-Liverpool chairman had nothing to do with Littlewoods pools .
John Moores was Everton chairman and owner of the pools company .

Bill Shankly's autobiography in 1976 was a sell out . It was re-released in 2009 and was again a sell-out . It is available again .
In it he criticised certain members of the board . They tried to get passages deleted . He regularly threatened to resign and John Smith still had a resignation letter from 1969 that he wouldnt retract . Liverpool offered him a double your money salary to stay but Bill refused .
When he resigned Bob Paisley took over . The season started and Bill was down at Melwood in his training gear to take training . The players were still calling Bill boss and walking past Bob to listen to Bill . It was Bob Paisley who complained to get Bill removed from the training ground because he could see it turning into a Matt Busby scenario . He resigned but wouldnt let go .
The problem then was Liverpool handled it very wrong . By the time they realised the ill feeling , the damage was done .
When Liverpool won the European Cup in 1977 , Bill Shankly was on the balcony of the town hall with the team .

When you go the match on Sunday , talk to Liverpool supporters . Not the keyboard warriors . You'll see the difference .
