Opposition view: Newcastle United

Nice read Chris!

Always had a soft spot for the Toon, great city and super stadium, with true footie supporters. 2 of my pals (me mates!) over here are Geordies through and through and are smashing lads!

All the best, AFTER Saturday of course, for the season and go win that Europa League and fook em all pal!!

Going for 2-1 to "The only football team to come from Manchester", with Tevez hitting the winner :-)

Fucking terrible!!!!! First sentence:

At the start of the season I would of been happy with a top half finish

Shame on you Geordie, shame on the Editor for not spotting it and shame on the resident grammar genii on the forum for missing it.

I despair!

All fair comment, particularly the lack of bitterness about us being the club that suddenly received the investment to enable us to compete.

I wonder if Chris has a view on the FFPR regulations given that it effectively prevents a club of similar stature such as Newcastle ever being able to receive that investment. As I understand it, NUFC are supporting these measures.

Yeah the FFPR if enforced properly should level the playing field, that is certainly what Ashley and the club are banking on. The only issue is, in my view, I am not certain how enforceable the regulations are. As has been mentioned before are UEFA really going to exclude the big guns (say a Barca or Real or City) for not meeting the regulations. I'm not sure.

In general I don't think the whole game Is sustainable long term as it stands and something does need to change. What form that will take I have no idea salary cap like Rugby League maybe. I don't know but this bubble of sky and mega money will surely burst at some point and I would hope the game has its house in order before that happens.

I know I thought someone would of noticed it by now. Still they're fault not mine ;)

It will do the complete opposite mate.

That's why I asked the question. If an intelligent fan like Chris can't see that, it shows how successful the propaganda has been. I sort of hoped fans of other clubs would see through it.
