OS REWIND- Blackburn v City 2000

I remember when the Goat scored, the rendition of "feed the Goat" was the loudest I had ever heard CITY fans sing, it was an awesome day, I was top tier but managed to get on to the pitch at the end with my 14 year old son.

Great memories!

In many respects I enjoyed this game more then the Gillingham one.

It was less important to the club, but it felt less like CPR on a dying corpse and more like we were back where we belonged rather than back where we didn't belong!!

I've been proud of City fans and the atmosphere they generate on more times than I care to remember, including last weekend, but there was something magic about the fans that day that I will never forget.

For that reason this game, more than any other, makes me smile every time I think about it.

Im the same. That game - which was an absolute roller coaster, surrounded on all sides by blues, and one where the cards actually turned in our favour, reminds me why I love em so much.
Im freezing after watching it - Ive had that many shivers up and down by arms. back , neck, the lot
Horlock, super Mark Kennedy, Weaver, Dicky, the Goat absolute legends. `
We watch em for days like that.
Please let there be another very soon

i watched this in copper faced jacks in town, there was the compulsory red twat in there wooping it up when blackburn scored and there was me doing it back x 4,then we all bought a load of beer from the offy and into albert square for a quiet get together........

I watched it on TV. I am sure the camera caught the ref puffing his cheeks out and shakeing his head when they hit the post for the 4th or 5th time. Made me chuckle.

Yep, it happened, it was highlighted on Soccer AM the following week. Terry Heilbron, I think it was his last game before he retired as a referee. He had an excellent game, as I remember. I watched in disbelief from my lounge. Then sat in the garden getting leathered in the sunshine. Cracking day.

Awesome day out. Managed to get a ticket off a lad I used to play football with. He came through B'burns youth system & was good mates with David Dunn. Just as I got there I heard our fans shout "ooooooooohhhhhh" & when I got to my seat I found out that my mates Dad got the ball full pelt in his face off one of our players during the warm up. To top it off we got caught celebrating on tv & in the papers. I'll never forget how proud I was to be City that day. We took over Blackburn that day. Owned by Mancs!!!! Love it!!!

That pass for the Goat from super Kevin Horlock was sublime; never forget as well that Dickov's goal v Gillingham would have meanbt nowt if super Kev had not scored the first/ Got a lot of time for that lad - anyone know where he is now?
