I believe he is dead but I don't believe his body has been dumped in the sea. They've probably said this to stop extremists attacking military bases all over the middle east trying to get his body back.

mamba like has been said before just think if he was buried somewhere, what kind of place that would become it'd be like a rallying place for all the worlds extremists. i dont think the yanks would announce this without having 100% proof of it been bin laden. just think how embarrassed they would be if he popped up in a week or two!

The smart thing to do (and what I had wrongly assumed for a while now) was to bump Osama off and hush it all up. Al-Qaida attacks were on the wane and assumedly his influence was minimal compared to ten years ago.

What we will now see is a massive upsurge in violence across the globe as Al-Qaida attracts new recruits in record numbers. Attacks on American and British interests will increase tenfold. If British troops lives were in serious danger before, they are in mortal danger now. Every major event in Britain will now be upgraded to 'Red Alert' status again.

Killing Osama was one thing, bragging about it to the rest of the world was a massive own goal. The shit is about to hit the fan big time.
