I thought I read somewhere last night that the fee for us, due to the situation with Negrado, would be less than it would be for anyone else.

If anyone else were to bid for him, it would require a bid to match his full buy-out clause.

Something like that my money is on them being skint as surely they would have coughed up for Negrado and held out for full price for Otamendi.

I think this deal was all agreed and was going to be announced today, the idea of loaning Mangala for a season to come back a better player and replace Demi was probably a good one after the pre season showing...However his form has meant City have withdrew the offer of the loan, so now City can choose to pay the release fee, negotiate a fee or pull out of the deal...Mendes is over trying to resolve this as he probably thought his commission was in the bag and does not want to lose it...I think City fancy doing the deal and want the player, but now need to come up with a solution as we will have 1 extra centre back and need to weigh up our options, so think this one could run a little yet!!
