Our attack - what's off?

What’s wrong with our attack is big guns firing blanks .... It’s staggering how many chances we squander in virtually every game we play ... is it....
Lack of ability - No
Lack of technique - Fuckin hope not at this level
Lack of confidence - Maybe
Lack of atmosphere in stadia- Maybe
Whatever it is, it needs fixing sharpish...!!!

Playing against a packed defense almost every game. It`s been proved, it works.

We there for have to occasionally get the ball faster the the front men. There`s less chance of this happening when the midfield is made up of two defensive players out of the three.

Seems to be a general lack of confidence and decisiveness in fromt of goal. We create chances but how often do you feel Sterling or anyone will slot home a one-on-one with the keeper, or bury a ball bouncing in the box? It hardly ever happens. We need someone to just hit it at goal every time, a poacher, a killer.

Apart from an ageing and injured Aguero we have no natural, greedy finishers.

A fox in the box? Franny Jeffers. Arsenal used to have this problem.

A big problem is our forwards running into the box and the wide player pulling back so forwards are static when the cross comes so defenders have the advantage. Sterling and Mahrez rarely put in an early cross and nearly always pull back onto their strong foot.

Same with pullbacks from the goal line. Forwards need to be running forward, which is what Sergio was good at. Holding back then getting in front running towards goal.

David Silva was the master of one twos around the box and we have lost that.

Sterling can be shire he still plays 90 mins every week

Anyone else hear Pep just say this:
“Our quality of players in the middle is completely different”

which middle - upfront or midfield.....Id agree if he is talking about midfield and its noticeable that sergio is on the pitch for 15 mins and gets away more shots than jesus

How many times do our highly paid professionals kick the ball ankle high into a defender a few yards in front of them. Time and time again. Its pathetic technique and alarmingly repetitive. A Kids school team would figure out how to launch the ball better than this bunch.

I do feel a bit sorry for Jesus, he’s having to come deep, play wide etc just to get involved - and then sees the best chances fall to others. I don’t know the answer but he needs to be in the end of those crosses not Sterling or Gundogan.

He meant the midfield
Good...at least he knows what the issue is then

But its partly due to his selection....

Keep picking two out of the 3 of Rodri Ferna and Gundogan and we will keep seeing the same issues.

I think he has been scared byt eh game where he took ferna off when we wre drawing and we ended up losing (was it leeds?)

The issue are:

Rodri on his own isnt mobile enough and we are vulnerable to counters - same with Gundogan......

Ferna is he only one out of the 3 that can play that role on his own (or use to be able to) -Pep clearly thinks he cannt anymore. Therefore pep plays two and we lose an attacking option.

Maybe they dont pass to Jesus because they dont trust him. I know Jesus is isolated a lot but that excuse cannot go on forever or are we happy to play him as number one striker and having a return of 5 goals in like 30 games from him? Can we afford that? If top6 is the target then maybe yes.

He is so far away from a 20-25 goal striker in PL as he can be.
