Our best ever player

It's Kev isn't it. Consistently the best, all the others mentioned, with the possible exception of Rodders, had weak points to their game, Yaya wasn't consistent over a number of seasons, or generally even through a single season, David only used his right leg for standing on, Aguero, brilliant striker but as a striker his ability to influence the rest of the pitch was limited, so really it's got to be a midfield player overall.

In fact thinking about it Rodders weak point is his lack of goals, harsh maybe, but I'm going with it

To win, you have to score goals, but also to stop the other team scoring goals. Here's where Rodri enters the conversation. More than any other player he has helped us achieve balance between attack and defence. Without that balance, we create chances at the expense of allowing the opposition to create chances as well.

Before Rodri, we had balance in domestic competitions, but didn't have one in the CL. It's not a coincidence that with him we went 26 games unbeaten in the CL and won 4 in a row. Yaya and David weren't successful in the CL, and couldn't win 3, let alone 4 in a row.

Tbh, it's funny that players who were never rated as top 5 or even top 10 in the world are regarded as better than the only City player who was voted the best in the CL, the Euros and the world. Different levels of accomplishment and recognition. It's not a coincidence that Rodri went 74 fucking games unbeaten with City, the most on record in the big leagues. Apparently, it hasn't sunk in yet.

Agreed, however I'd swap around your first sentence and make it to win you have to stop the other teams scoring, and then score some yourself.

Overall, it doesn't change my opinion, KDb is still the best we've ever had, but I wouldn't argue with someone who chose Rodders ahead of him

I love Rodri but I don’t care about the balon d’or.

It depends on who you are up against. Nobody is beating prime Messi for example.

KDB has contributed more, in his time at City, than any player. Ever.

At his peak he was jaw dropping.
