He always crosses like that quite often. Its nasty for the keeper as in a way its going for the goal but someone might get a touch on it.

I've watched it a few times and I'm still not sure. He may have "hedged his bets" today, and done what a lot of players do these days, namely whip in a cross that is aimed at (not across) the goal. That way, if someone (attacker or defender) gets a glance on the ball or even if they don't, you're bringing the possibility of a goal into the equation.

I think he went for it but knew that it could have been headed in if it was going wide, as a winger its about puting the ball in the right area and thats what he did.

Watching it live, i was convinced it was a cross. But having checked out Johnson's after match interview on the BBC website, i'm now convinced that he meant it. His body language shows no tell tale signs that it was a fluke. Also, he seems a pretty honest, down to earth guy to me and i reckon he'd have owned up to it being a fluke if it actually was.

He meant it, and it was a phenominal goal.

Still a cracking goal either way.

I sit in the West Stand marra and He looked to cross it. Just one of them ones that go in. A deserved result in the end so can't complain. AJ is so much better than SWP.

agreed, hes got a final delivery and can take on a man. Got to stay in the team, hes young and will be inconsistent but I think we should stick with him in the starting 11.
