We'll beat Swansea but make hard work of it. (W 2-1)
Draw at home to Bayern. (2-2)
Can't see us winning at Southampton on current form, probably lose that one. (L 1-2)
Finally beat Sunderland away though, for some reason I think quite comfortably. (W 3-1)
I looked at those fixtures and thought exactly what you said.

Great minds think alike! ;)

Think we'll comfortably win all of them outside of Munich at home

What makes you think that? Especially Southampton away.

I don't think we're as bad as people are making out, and that our problems are down to poor physical preparation at the start of the season and a mental pressure coming from the fans and media that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I think a break away for much of the squad, new faces and new people to work with will help clear everybody's heads so when they get back they will be refreshed mentally and the pressure will be lifted somewhat

The international break often works as a reset button for form and I tend to side that there's nothing fundamentally wrong with City at the moment, just a lot of little things that have built up. We could point to the poor pre-season, the messing about on Mangala that got him here two months later than expected, not replacing Negredo after his sudden request, decisions that have gone against us from refs, individual mistakes in the game, the UEFA stuff, the attendance against Roma and the atmosphere around the place in general.

A week completely forgetting about City and instead concentrating on a different team and a more relaxed/jokey attitude that international camps tend to have will clear the minds of the self-doubt and frustration creeping in.

Couldn't have come at a better time for us really.

Lets hope things pick up for us like they did same time last season albeit we were already pretty much assured our passage into the last 16 by then.

Looking at the fixture coming up till 1st Jan, we have what looks on paper, like a decent run where we can pick up a good stash of points. Plus, games come fast round Christmas, and we do have a big squad to cope. On paper, Chelsea have a harder run, with 2 derbies, Saints away and the Barcodes away... Plus Costa won't be able to play all through the Christmas period...

If we can turn this around, now is a good time to start.

Things could look a heck of a lot better come Jan 2nd...

What we need in the league games most of all is an early goal. I seem to recall a stat that this season if we score in the first 20 mins we've gone on to score 4. Early goals settle the crowd and completely alters the opposition game plan. Last season we regularly exploded out of the blocks, this season we've been far too slow in starting and the tempo has been awful.

Start well (in the league anyway) and we'll win comfortably.

Anyway enough of what should happen, what will probably happen is a win against Swansea, draw with Southampton and of course a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland (make it 5 straight 1-0 defeats there the last player to score for us there was Adam Johnson).

Why can't Costa play the Christmas period?

Since newcastle can finally beat us this season maybe the cosmic balance has been disturbed and we can finally beat sunderland? #keepthefaith

What is missing on this picture is the fact we play Swansea at home the Saints away
Chelsea face West brom at home and Sunderland away - 6 points nailed on if we are honest
We may pick up 3 at best if we carry on with our poor form.
That would put chelsea on 35pts and us on 24pts...

Anyone truly belive that Chelsea with there squad are gonna drop 11 points without us drawing again or losing - not a chance

This is why the next 2 premiership games are huge for the club, the season, the team and Pellegrini.
6 points would be most welcome

Time to be realistic considering our poor form :

Swansea H - Home win.

Bayern H - Draw.

Saints A - Away Defeat.

Sunderland A - Away win.
