Hart

Lahm Kompany Pique Cole

Essien

Silva Xavi Ineista

Messi Aguero Robben

go on prove me wrong

Well we had Tal Ben Haim, Zabaleta, Kompany and SWP all in before the takeover I believe. So, based on the squad at the time, players Hughes liked and didn't like and who was available I'd guess...

................................Hart/Kasper
Zaba/Nedum....Dunne/TBH...Micah/Kompany...Ball/Garrido/Konchesky
SWP/Etuhu....Ireland/Gelson....Johnson/Sidwell...Petrov/Pedersen
...............Benjani/Vassell.......Evans/Doyle

That was quite enjoyable!

I'd imagine Micah Richards, Michael Johnson, Daniel Sturridge, Vincent Kompany, Michael Ball, Martin Petrov, Joe Hart all would've been sold/retired/been released by now (2011) to fund other (crapper) players coming in! Grim!

Very good. The Taffia

Not sure we'd have gone down JMW - didn't we hammer Hull 5-1 before the January window? I know we were shit away and didn't look like we'd score in a brothel but I think home form would've kept us up, we didn't have much quality outside of Robinho but we had some (Caicedo scored a few but not many and Ireland had a good season although whether it would have been the same without the Robinho understanding is debatable).

As for Barton and Distin well I think they both wanted to leave with us being as we were back then - how stupid they must feel now not that they'd get near the side these days anyhow.

Some interesting names though, I think it's just inevitable that less of the youth will get a chance and they might have done had we not had the takeover but we're in a different world these days. Just reminds you how far we have come in such a short space of time.

we wouldn't have had Robinho and his 14/15 goals if we hadn't been taken over.

Hull's novelty factor had gone and they were shit for the duration of their premiership stay after that.

Hmmm?

Possibly

......................Hart....................

Richards Onouha Boyata Clichy

.....Barton...........Johnson

SWP.......Ireland.........Johnson

..........Sturridge.....................

Just a thought, FUCK thats shit lol

it's quite irrelevant

we had a 48,000 seater stadium. we would have never gone down

as for players we would have had, i'd probably go for gyan.

We would have gone down if we hadn't been taken over by Shinawatra. The end of Pearces reign we were awful, and then we lost our two best players in Barton and Distin. We had no owner and no manager until very nearly the start of the next season.

I know this isn't the takeover we're talking about but we still could have been relegated in a 48,000 seater stadium, besides Newcastle went down recently and their's is bigger.

Any reason why we'd sign the entire Welsh side?

Thread to idly speculate about the sorts of people who would have playing for us now, were it not for the Sheikh.

I bet we'd have Peter Crouch, and we would have bought Joey Barton back from the Geordies and Dunnie would still be with us, not to mention Steven Ireland. It does not bear thinking about.

Other than those four, who else might we have?

Danny Mills would've been given a five year extension to his contract.
