Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but Ive been out all day and have just managed to steal the PC from one of my daughters for 15mins so here goes.

Today I can honestly say was the worst Liverpool side ive seen in watching football for 37 years. They were beyond dire. Today for entertainment value was the worst City v liverpool game I can recall in the past 37 years. Where was the quality, where was the fight, where was the desire? The first 45mins was unbearable, not helped by injuries but thats a poor excuse for the so called quality proffessionals on that Anfield pitch today.

However it doesn't concern me about Liverpools inability to get it together moreover i'm perplexed by our last 6 performances. Putting aside the arguement about glass half full or half empty concerning the points tally gained or lost by the opposition faced, it's more our total lack of learning and moving forward from these draws. Any one of the last 6 games could have happened in any order, we've shown no improvement from the first draw, no understanding or fixed style of play to move forward with. The defence continue to stumble from one 90mins of comical value to the next with no visible evidence of them becoming a cohesive unit. I could accept mistakes if we learnt from them but can anyone honestly say we have.

The midfield seem lethargic at times and indeed knackered and unfit as well as possesing an inability to find a blue shirt all too often. The wingers (although I can't blame Bellamy too much as I don't think he is one) seem to have no idea how to go down to the bye line, beat a man and whip a cross in without finding the oppositions first man. And FFS stop falling over your own fucking feet with the ball!

The attack looks helpless when time after time the defence launch the ball to our solitary single man upfront surrounded by a four man defence. This has happened constantly in all of the last 6 games. Start learning and play it on the floor where by doing this for 20mins today we outplayed an awful average Liverpool team.

Does anyone honestly believe that for the last 6 games our coaching staff have actually made an improvement from the previous draw and mistakes because I for one fail to see it.

2-2 With Liverpool away is certainly an improvement on 3-3 with Burnley at Home.

I thought once we went behind today, we looked like we could score and create chances, as that proved.

But overall the standard of performances have been poor.

Nowt can be done now about today............but we can certainly try to get it right for the next game...lescott is improving as is Tevez & de jong...we just need everyone to play faultlessly....

A look at the full chelsea game today would prove to them that it can be done...

frightening team..even without Drogba.

I am amazed that Hughes has been able to assemble a superb squad but he hasn't got a clue yet how to set them up. It looked like we didn't want compete in that first half.
They lacked conviction until Liverpool scored.

Anybody feeling confident about beating Hull next week?

On paper and historically I would agree that 2-2 away to Liverpool is better than 3-3 at home to Burnley. But then base it on the 90 minutes witnessed in both games and I would say the best performance by any of the three sides came from Burnley, they showed the desire and fight and at times the quality of their football was excellent. Coming after the Burnley game did we really improve today and learn anything. I would answer no. We played well for a period in both games, less today than v Burnley and yet made the same basic errors and failed to improve. I see no real improvement as a footballing unit in any of our last 6 games. We seem to have hit a wall!

Its something i was thinking about myself too... the complete lack of desire.

Our first two or three games we were hungry, it showed, we went behind... we won the game.

I thoguht it could be that, being a young multi millionaire can sap any feeling of hunger from you; you've got the money, you've got the girls, you've got everything... what's left to achieve? For me, thats the reason players like Zidane or Kaka et al seemed to perform so highly so often; they weren't driven by money or lifestyle, but just to suceed and be the absolute best they could/can be.

It looks like the footballing swagger has been completely sapped out of our side, like were being told to be overly cautious to NOT express ourselves, to play within ourselves and to a strict gameplan. That doesn't work with the top players, whilst they need guidance and boundries you've got to let them add their interpritation onto the game, thats why they're so expensive, thats why they're so good.

Hopefully this is just our rough patch, i'd certainly take 5 draws as a rough patch. I feel a decent win coming against Hull, but there's plenty that needs addressing. Today was not a "good performance" as Hughes has stated.

Great post that sums up exactly what an increasing number of us are thinking

First half - unbelievably forgettable. Second half thought we were excellent for the most part, but only after a kick up the arse in the form of a goal....should it need that to get these lads going? It seems we spend the first 15 minutes of each half sleeping and it really pisses me off. Imagine how good we could be if we could(?)/tried to play at that second half tempo for a little longer than 15-20 minute bursts?

Bottom line for me - I expect us to beat Hull comfortably and kick on from there. My expectations may be unrealistic, but I really dont think they are. If we cant take care of Hull after 2 extremely disappointing draws at home, serious questions are going to start being asked, and not just by the current crop of 'outers' (of which I am not one by the way ;)

Does anyone actually waste time reading long boring negative threads like that??

If you are gonna have a go............

Keep it short & stright to the point like " Hughes Out"
