Our support on here

It's a forum. I never say a bad word about City or the players at the ground or in the company of opposition fans. But I'll give my opinion unfiltered on here and if my opinion is someone ain't good enough I won't sugar-coat it. The only player I don't have any time for from the current squad is Walker. Pep and the rest have worked miracles over the past few years. I do think our recruitment since the treble season has left a lot to be desired though and it doesn't make you any less of a fan to question it.

The club regularly takes the piss out of its loyal supporters. The Glazer statement on the official page, constant price rises, the simping for Liverpool and criticising our own supporters after they scarred a young girl for life. The lack of support for what our fans went through in Istanbul. The attempt to rinse disabled fans for car parking. Sometimes shit needs calling out and this is the best place to do it.

Sometimes I'll write a shitty post to vent I don't really mean. Who cares?

I think that's fair enough, by and large.
For myself, I'm not “supporting” the team by coming on here and expressing an opinion, negative or positive, and I don't tell myself I am. It's just a forum. It's a place for online discussion. We're not urging on the team on here, unless they come here and read it (and I sort of doubt that). My real, effective, support is elsewhere. I don't speak with disrespect of any City player or the manager, I believe, but I do criticise when I think it's warranted.
I do sometimes see what I consider to be silly opinions on here about Pep, you can't criticise him at all because of what he's done. Well, in the present, I can criticise him all I want if I think it's warranted. As for telling me Pep knows more about football on his little finger than I'll ever know in my life, well actually, I know that. Let's close down the forum then — there's nothing to say, other than worshipping at the altar.
Same goes for any player. Kev, Erling, anyone, if I think they've turned in a rank bad performance in that specific game (or in the last few games). We don't live in the past. And you know what? Pep, and the players, would be the first to agree with that. Even the recent past. It's utterly fantastic that we've done four in a row, I truly can't believe it, that we've done six out of the last seven, that we've won a domestic treble, then a continental treble for good measure. But we're talking about the present.
I wouldn't say what you've said about Walker, to be honest — or put it this way, I wouldn't put it like that, personally — but I do definitely think that he's pretty much over the hill now, for the level that we play at. Whatever he's done in the past. He might come back into form, but I doubt it. It's just time catching up with players.

Be objectively critical, based on fact not fiction, if appropriate and always be supportive.

It's predictable that there are usually twice as many posts if we lose than when we win....human nature is a very predictable and powerful phenomenon.

The use of shit, wank tosser etc is completely unacceptable and unnecessary.

I think if we play shit somebody can say we played....... shit. This is a safe space for many where we can vent and complain amongst our own kind, saving ourselves to defend us to the hilt in the real world through the constant barrage of shit we usually get. We haven't looked good and it is perfectly acceptable for people to come on here and discuss our poor levels currently. Of course there will be extreme examples of people going over the top, this forum also has a section that refuse to hear a bad word about the club or any players, that isn't healthy either.

I tend to be very critical of MCWFC on here, but I've been used to watching them from the days of playing at the Athletics Stadium. It's not the results I rail about but the quality of minute by minute football has slipped. We seem not to have the pace and urgency at getting into the oppo pen area as we used to and instead insist on retaining the ball. It's club wide and it's not a recipe for continued success as we seem to concede the minute we lose possession. I suppose, too, that clubs play us and seem to realise league-wide that a 5-4-1 set up can stifle the best attackers and we see that every time we turn out to face lower-placed opposition, and so far, neither Pep nor GT have found a solution that trashes the 'parked bus'!

So you agree with my first paragraph.

Thanks for your support !!

I agree with this. I always support the team in the stadium and always have done (apart from that Stuart Pearce away game at Blackburn which was my breaking point). I never criticise or boo individual players at matches. But the whole point of this Forum is that we should all be able to criticise the club and the team when they deserve it. I do have an issue with the minority of posters who seem to wallow in negativity. But I try to cut them some slack because I assume many of them (like all of us probably) have pressures away from this forum which would make anyone negative.

I always feel there's too many on here that actually enjoy us been beaten OR when we don't play well and win.

For two main reasons:

We have so many posters that love the "I told you so" attitude.

We also have the other posters that love "sticking the boot into the players that they dislike".

I'm not even getting into the posters that stick the boot into our supporters that actually attend games as it's quite bizarre.

It's very strange that we have so called blues that love to do this, We get enough shit from opposition fans and media without our own having a pop.

The club and the team are somewhat different things in my view.

I certainly try not to criticise the team or individual players. In my opinion, the level of consistency shown week in, week out, for over a decade has been incredible, hence all the trophies. We are going to have dips and defeats, it happens. I think we have gathered a few fans nowadays who see things in very stark black and white, a win is great, don’t win, then the players are crap, and Pep has lost it, no middle ground, no context. It is a direct consequence of winning so much.

I don’t however view the club, the corporate side, as above criticism in quite the way the team should be. So, stuff like the Istanbul silence, the joint statements with the scousers, etc. should absolutely be called out.
