This reeks of a CFG signing in all honesty.
No rumours of any first team involvement, his club, his age, his position.
Just because he is a CFG signing doesn't mean he can't play for the club - look at Zinchenko or Gómez. It does make it significantly less likely though.

It's possible Aké and Laporte both leave and Diomande becomes 4th or 5th choice, but I don't see it for someone his age who needs regular gametime.
