Outlook hacked?

Looks like it with Outlook saying "unusual activity" and needing verification. Seems sorted but the "sent" folder was emptied. Can it be recovered? Microsoft helplines not very helpful.

My outlook is permanently hacked despite constant password changes and using a third part password generator which leads me to believe that their security of email accounts is virtually non existent.

Full of spam and phishing email on a daily basis.

Protonmail is my main account now and have never had a single issue or spam or phishing attempts.
