Over-rated footballers

Sergio Ramos - Great going forwards, strong quick, but has the defensive nouse of Micah Richards.

Got to be Ibrahimovic for me. I've never seen him have a truely world class game, he seems to spend 89 minutes looking moody and 1 minute being a footballer.

As for the person who said Messi is over-rated, you obviously know nothing about football.

I undoubtably know a danm sight more than you - Ibrahimavic is a fantastic player and on the same level as drogba or torres, messi is incredible but not as good as anyone makes him out to be.

What a tool you are. Ibra is a good player but nowhere near as good as Drogba and Torres. As for Messi how can the worlds best player not be that good? Get a grip mate

Actually I say I have watched the vast majority of Barca games and Argentina's World Cup qualifying campaign, and to be perfectly honest when you've got a guy like Maradona who for no good reason insists on picking Aguero and Gutierrez and drops players like Cambiasso then it's hardly a fair reflection on the rest of the squad.

Feel free to carry slamming the guy, you only look like more of an idiot for it.

How should that effect his ability though - that is my point

no it doesn't, he's world class and the best player in the world, it doesn't make him god and able to be superhuman.

What is the record of english strikers against top level foreign teams? pretty fucking shit i'd say. Not that Messi is a striker, he's a winger and he still scores more goals than mr rooney, drogba, Ibra, Higuain, Aguero, Tevez and the like.

and Pee Dubya I'm glad someone brought up Mr Ramos, It's been a month and I'm still trying to convince my mates that he is Spain's weak point along with LB.

I think Romos gets some proper stick, he has had a terrible time in his life and it has affected him over the last couple os seasons but i think he will come good again

ino at times were a bit bitter, but theres being a bitter blue and theres being completely stupid! im no rag, but who ever critisies beckham needs there head checkin. i hate the guy but i cannot critise his football ability. in his day he could place the ball anywhere on the pitch inch perfect! does that mean all the managers around the world are stupid as well!? also he wouldnt be making as much money as he is now if he wasnt good

Okay, we'll let what happened against Argentina in 98, his stupid red card in a crucial WC qualifier against Austria, and his average performances in major tournaments in 2002, 2004, and 2006 all slide, because after all its Beckham, whoever criticises him need their head checking.

I never said he was a bad player, I said he was a good Premier League standard player, which is very good. If you can play at the top consistently you must be very good. However he is not a football legend, which is how he is dressed up by the media. Yes, he is a very good deliverer of the ball, which is his biggest strength, but there have been loads of players who can do that, and do a hell of alot more (i.e. Zico, Platini, Valderrama, to name but a few). You mention all the managers who picked him. Like I said earlier, in the midfield he played in at Man Yoo, he had 3 great players around him, all of whom were better than he was, but a great team isn't necessarily made of 11 superstars. Less gifted players are picked because they have a role to play, cogs in a well oiled machine, and that was Beckham, a not particularly brilliant component, but in a very well oiled machine.

Ashley Young and Abonglhor, i don't see anything that good in either of them
Kalou - How he plays for Chelsea i'll never know

That shithouse Aguero for starters.
Most of the England team.
Most of our players.

Might as well throw in the Prem, La Liga, Serie A. Then just give up watching football

No, it's an English thing, lots of players who play in England are vastly overrated. It's the reason a Liverpool side with 'the ability to win the title' came 7th.

Is kalou over-rated because i cant think of 1 person that thinks he is good

I thought about that but someone somewhere must do.

How about?

Toure
Bridge
SWP
Barry
Adebayor
RSC

I would say the money that was shelled out for them and others, that all of these were over-rated

Iker Casillas, David Silva, Cesc Fabregas, Xabi Alonso.

Thank god someone else sees it. Injury prone, lightweight, poor attitude and fairly slow. His technical ability is not in question when on the ball but as an all-round player I'm not impressed.

A bit off the subject of the thread but...
My Dad knows Danny Higginbothams Dad and he told me n me Dad at the pub that Danny was Stokes captain for the FA Cup when they beat Arsenal at home in which Cesc Fabregas was Arse capt. They both went in to see the ref before the game and after a brief chat Danny stood up, shook the refs hand and turned to shake Fabregas' hand. At this point Fabregas looked Danny up and down, did one of those laughs where you push a breath out of your nose, didn't shake his hand, and walked out of the room! After the final whistle and Stoke won Danny gave Fabregas a few (un)kind words telling him what he felt!

Hated the guy since, arrogant twat! If idv been in Danny's situation idv twatted Fabregas, but then I'll never be captain of a Premier League footy team eh!?

Am I allowed Paddy Crerand ? He was a truly shocking, not even journeyman, dirty player who made a reputation and a living off the backs of George Best, Bobby Charlton and Denis Law.
