12 mins till kickoff, will be racing down that freeway!

come on oz, 2-0 will do it, and a draw in the game afterwards sees us sailing away to SA....!

But the irony is we look a much worse team than we sent to Germany...

Verbleak makes Farina look like a tactical genius. We'll snatch a 1-0 though.

Are there any decent young Oz players coming through?

With the likes of Kewell, Viduka, Cahill, Grella, Moore, Emerton, Bresciano, Schwarzer, Aloisi etc all getting on a bit.

Nope. No-one setting the world alight anyway.

agreed wheelsy- just when everyones jumped on the bandwagon too hey!

bresch has played brilliant- but there is something i really dont like about that holman-maybe its the hair?he is going for a beckham circa about 4/5 years ago!

2-0 - will take that with timmy c on the bench...

ps- its fooking wet even by manc standards!

Why does Holman keep playing ? Doesnt offer anything but somehow he contines to get a run.
With the Aussies about to qualify, I feel sorry for Cahill. So much responsibilty on his shoulders. Oh well, we'll be there and thats all that matters.

DIM OUT!

A few, but not for a while.

Forwards, there's Nathan Burns at AEK and Bruce Djite from Genclerbirligi are the two that stand out so far, though both aren't up to the quality of those guys above. Both forwards, Burns plays slightly deeper, reminds me a bit of Scott McDonald but with pace. While Djite is a man mountain with a good burst of pace. There's also Nikita Rukavytsya who's at Twente. He moved in Jan, has been on the bench, but I don't think he's got a run yet. REALLY fast, but an average shot. Really should have stayed for another year.

Midfielders - Not much. James Troisi (ex-Newcastle, now also with Genclerbirligi) has finally been getting game time, and supposedly doing pretty well for himself. The only other player I can think of is Stu Musialik at Sydney FC. Good tackling DM with a good passing game. Will do ok in 2nd/3rd tier Europe, probably not much higher.

Defenders - Only two really. Scott Jamieson (ex Bolton, now Adelaide) was brilliant this year after coming back. Plays LB too which is a massive bonus. The only other player I can think of is Adrian Lejier at Fulham, though he has dropped off the radar big time, stuck in the reserves.

Keepers. Adam Federici had a great Olympics, but is stuck behind Hanneman at Reading. I think he's on loan at Southend atm though. There's big wraps on Dean Bouzanis at Liverpool, though he's a fuckwit and should fuck off to Greece and stop whinging. Play a first team game first you idiot.

This generation was considered the lost generation, as they fell in between the old league and the new, and either had 18 months of semi-pro football, or went overseas and rotted in the reserves. The new youth league started up this year and there's some promising players there, but no real superstars yet. One bloke who could make it is Kofi Danning from Sydney. Think Agbonlahor when he first broke in to the Villa team. Fastest bloke ever. Playing on the left, but will slowly make his way up front. Already a fan favourite.
