Pablo Zabaleta ?

I like Zab and you cant question his commitment, but he worries me when he is playing defence as he gets turned far too easily. He loves to jump in, like last night when he gave that free kick away on the edge of the area near the end. Richards has been good up until the derby, all the boo boys couldnt wait for him to have a below par game to get on his back again. Id play Richards personally.

looked ok, but his passing was a bit off (but so was a lot of players). He was also missing a lot of maych fitness and hasn't played with this back four before.

Still looked 10 times better than richards going forward, but he needs a few games too settle before he can be judged.

This, although he should be replaced in Jan.

I do like Zab very much, think he is a class player. But quite possibly his worse performance in a city shirt last night :(

I thought he had a good game. Up there with DJ and Bellers for commiment to the cause. A useful asset in attack as well.

I'd start him over Micah every time.

I agree 100% with Balti.

i agree also; the fact that he can trap a ball helps....

thought we were much better for having a "footballer" at right back.

He was pretty poor last night - his distribution was awful.

i prefer him as a holding midfielder.
Can't argue with that Dave think he is a lot better than Richards, like Zab like you say mate in midfield he likes a tackle but De Jong is on fire noway can MH leave him out of the side.

To start with, I think Zab is a really good player, but, I can see why Hughes is prefering Richards at the moment. In general we have a really small team and could be vulnerable at set pieces as Sunday showed. Richards presence in our box does give us an advantage as the game against Arsenal showed. Hughes also likes powerful players and no one can doubt that when Richards does get forward he is causing problems, take his goals against Portsmouth and Arsenal plus his assist for Bellamy, and he could easily have scored at the swamp on Sunday.

I think we should stop looking at the negatives of the lad and instead look at what positives he brings to the team, we could have really done with him last night!!

i thought he did enough considering he aint played much this season, and it was good to see him telling weiss where to be positionally
