Pablo Zabaleta

Lucky enough to get invited by Tblisi to Abu Dhabi through club comp few years back
Fantastic few days and on the arranged meet and greet with the players Zabba was first in and last out, says it all about the guy unlike a couple more you could mention!

I also met him probably prior to your visit when I won flights to the friendly we had over there in 2008/9.

He was only really a bit player then but was by far the most personable player out there.

It is great to see a pro-City pundit on sky. He speaks well and understands the game and analyses it well. He is just such a lovely bloke. We could do with him being on sky regularly but would also love him to have a role at the club.

Zabba v spitting boy on MNF discussing why despite outspending all other teams recently with world record fees a certain team still languish well behind the blues

I've met him a few times when I worked on BA never to much trouble to chat and have a pic, sergio on the other hand not as friendly Seems like a chore to him : ) love them both though

What I loved about Zab was on all the tunnel cam vids he was the only player who consistently, week in week out, would go and say hello and shake the hands of all the people who stand on the doors etc. How you treat the "little people" (or the big bastards when it comes to some of the doormen) in any organisation speaks volumes about you as a person, and Zab is obviously a complete gent.

Whilst I may well be getting more emotional in my older age, I just watched Zab on YouTube. Some of you may have seen the clip, it's the one where blues are reading poetry about him, he is hiding behind a curtain, and then mid poetry he comes out to surprise the poets.
At the end of the video, a very young blue, with "mini Zaba" on the back of his shirt starts to talk about Pablo. Pablo comes out from the curtain and.....well watch the you tube clip for yourselves... as I said earlier, I may be getting emotional, but it's really hard not to watching this clip. Zab epitomises everything we want from our players. He is humble, tough skilful, committed and very very obvious as blue as we are. If you haven't seen the clip I am waffling on about, have a look.. see if you are as touched as I most certainly was
Pablo Zab. Once a blue always a blue !!
