Palace (A) Post Match Thread

Not our usual level today but pleasing in that we never looked remotely in trouble (very dodgy penalty aside).

Thought we did easily enough to win the game just didn’t have enough about us to put the chances away. It happens.

Walker was immense. Mangala not far behind. Ederson is the new Zabaleta in terms of cult hero status.

**** of a place to go so to come away with a point and the undefeated record intact is pleasing imo.

14 points clear and no defeats is absolutely remarkable.

Let’s see how we fare if Kev and Jesus are out for lengthy periods.
 
We extended our lead in the league again. The winning run is over but it's the BEST ever in England or Spain. Watford and Liverpool the highest risk matches now. We have Aguero out of form and allegedly playing through a bit of pain. De Bruyne not for for Watford and Silva unlikely to play. Sane, Bernardo and Gundogan were really off today but we've played a lot of football. Jesus back for big games at end of Feb
 
Stand to be corrected but I think Saha could only be done if they’d have scored the pen

The dive has to lead to a match changing decision and seeing as it was saved it wasn’t match changing

Anyway it doesn’t benefit us in any way at all if he gets a ban now. Not sure if they’ve got games against any of the top 6 coming up but if they have we want him in

Think palace had more of a go than most this season. We were pretty average today didn't really create many clear cut chances. It's impossible especially this time of year with fixtures coming thick and fast and the need to rest players to keep producing like we have been. The referee was poor in some of his decisions. The foul on de bryne was terrible and deserved a straight red. Eh ho on the positive half way or more through the season and unbeaten. Now how good is that!

Puncheon's horrible challenge wasn't indicative of the rest of the game imo (and that yellow card = 99% chance no investigation rule should be changed - he should be banned). Those two can fuck off but credit to the rest of their team.

We had an off day. Not B Silva's best position out wide which wasn't helped by less overlapping from Walker - prob with one eye on the Zaha counter. Walker was brilliant 2nd half. Cheers Edy for earning me £30.

The dive and the assault on De Bruyne left a sour taste in the mouth but apart from that Palace gave it a go and deserve a fair bit of credit. I would add that we were off the boil a bit which contributed to the final result but the run had to end sonewhere and I’m not that surprised it happened today.

I think he would have been rested for the next two games anyway so hopefully he will be ok for Liverpool where we will need him for sure and on song.

At least again he has been lucky and if the refs don't do anything about these tackles then broken legs and serious injuries will continue to dog the premier league.

Side was just off the boil today and Palace were up for it as you would expect so a draw while disappointing is not the worst result.

The real sad news of today is the injury to Gab and we can only hope he will make a quick recovery and be back for the run in but clearly we need to go after Sanchez now rather then wait for the summer.

Our intention will give him the idea we are serious about him and he is a required player and there is every chance he will go elsewhere if we don't do the deal in January.

The side needs some fresh blood even if we don't add to our defence in January which is likely IMO and Sanchez is perfect for the run in where injuries will start to take their toll if they haven't already.

Every player is required and needed now to be available even the likes of Mangala and Yaya.
