Palace (A) Post Match Thread

Stand to be corrected but I think Saha could only be done if they’d have scored the pen

The dive has to lead to a match changing decision and seeing as it was saved it wasn’t match changing

Anyway it doesn’t benefit us in any way at all if he gets a ban now. Not sure if they’ve got games against any of the top 6 coming up but if they have we want him in

That would be absurd. Surely the ban punishes cheating not scoring a penalty. The team the player should have been booked/get sent off against gains nothing from a retrospective ban regardless of the outcome of the penalty. The only point of any punishment is to stop cheating to gain an advantage. Which clearly happens if you get a penalty from it.

We needed a kick in the arse and when better than before the start of a difficult run of games and some important cup matches. I hope we take this as a positive. And I'm glad all this talk about records is over TBH.

Kyle Walker was poor ? Was your view obstructed?
I know, it shows you how people's views differ. I said 'in the first half' and still stand by my judgment - he was too slow and indecisive in whatever he tried to do. The second half the real KW turned up!

Didn’t see the game (flight) so I will confine myself to the soberest of comments (in all senses of the word).
Useful point picked up away. Still not beaten. One or other player steps up and refuses to be beaten. Today, it was Ederson. Us dropping two points is disappointing. The rags dropping two points at home, to Southampton, is downright disastrous. Fifteen points ahead of them, fourteen ahead of Chelsea, going into the New Year, with an absurdly advantageous goal difference. They both have to come to our place. There’s no way we’re messing this up.

Puncheon on KDB. Obviously, everybody on here was frothing at the mouth. I would have been, I suppose, if I’d seen it. What was sriking, though, was that if you take a quick trawl rounf forums that are anything but well disposed towards us normally, everyone was frothing at the mouth. The universal verdict was that that was a truly vile assault by Puncheon. Universal respect for KDB, by the way. We’re so fucking lucky to have him.
Get well, Kev, but take your time. You’re too valuable to us in the long term to mess things up by hurrying back from injury.

We march on.

Will take that. A point away sometimes is a decent result and that was. They are fighting for their lives on a good run of form and it is a tough ground.

We have just been to Newcastle and the squad a little stretched. Missing mendy, Stones, viny, delph, merlin.

I would have played sterling though as he is on fire. Defence played very well. Especially walker. Sane had a poor game which can happen but I don’t ike his petulant ways. Aguero is not having a great season and shame to see Jesus injured. I think Watford will be tough and one we need to win ahead of a very tough game at Liverpool.

Still one point closer to hopefully our 5th title. The record run was becoming a pain and now let’s just focus on getting points.

Ederson immense again.

Games like today are ones we would have lost most other seasons.

They are the gritty performances when not at your best against a team who was playing out of themselves because it was against us that come to define seasons.

If they occur once in a while they earn the points that win titles.

They only lose you them if they happen too often, and I do not see Pep ever letting that occur. He is too good.

Thuggery apart perhaps our collective off day and Palace going so close to inflicting defeat on us may help in a way.
The elevation of City to instill fear into all may now have abated slightly and whilst parking the bus may be the only tactic for some maybe they will be tempted to play normal mixture of attack and defence.

There again if we have further off days maybe we will prove to be vulnerable.

What's with all this "Palace deserved a point" shit?...the tossers kicked us all over the pitch and got off with murder. Thanks to that disgusting lunge on KDB we finished the game with 10 men for 3 minutes and they were allowed to bring on their last sub instead of finishing with 10 themselves. As for that shocking dive, my son is sitting here saying he doesn't;'t mind diving "it's part of the game"...really? What utter bullshit, games should be decided on skill, not on serial cheaters like spider head Zaha throwing themselves to the ground. I'm sick of it and the sooner we can give more in game video help to officials the better, it will stop utter chunts like him almost winning games with blatant cheating.

What is it with Sane and Aguero - 2 yellows. Sane was petulant and kicked the ball away. Not for the first time. Then Aguero after a conversation with the ref.
walked towards their player , about to take the free kick , Aguero puts his studs on the ball - Moss decides Aguero needs a yellow.
It was just fookin' stupid on Aguero's part.

Do you think Sane and Ferandinho both booked today as 5th yellow so they miss Watford and make sure they are available for the Liverpool game? I know Sanes yellow made him look petulant but do you think he knew what he was doing?
