Palace(A) Post Match Thread

We made that a bit more nervy than it had to be. very good performance until we went 2 up and then we got sloppy again just passing it around in defence until Kompanymisplaced a pass which ultimately lead to the free kick they scored from. I'd much rather see the game out by passing it around outside their penalty box rather than doing it in our own half which invites the opposition forward.

Very good result though and an excellent performance in the main. The same scoreline on Wednesday would do nicely.

It was Jesus who gave away cheap ball with an uneccesary attempted flick that led to their free-kick for the goal.

I get he is hungry but needs to take a leaf out of Raheem's book and play calmer in the head.

De Bruyne and Laporte were my stand-outs.

Good spot mate.

I'd be bollocking Bernardo for what he did in the wall though tbh.

I thought we were brilliant, one of our best performances in weeks. Hard to pick any one player for MOTM. KDB, Gundo, Raheem, Laporte all great. Mendy, Sane, Komps, Walker all very, very good. Eddie did what he had to do. Some people think he was at fault for their goal but the wall didn’t do it’s job, mainly because Bernie was manhandled out of the way by Benteke. Merlin did well but I thought he wasteful on quite a few occasions. Sergio just doesn’t look fit to me but I thought Gabby looked really sharp when he came on.

We’ve done what we need to do. If we keep winning there’s nothing the Dippers can do to catch us. Having said that, I’m hoping for a big Chelsea performance today.

Robbie Earle and Kyle Martino on NBCSN again praising City not just for their skill, also for how determined they are. Kompany's fist-pump celebration to the fans at the end summed it up nicely.

Solid performance against a difficult opponent would be too much to expect Chelsea not to lose again at Anfield though.

Chumps League secured for another season.

Well played well supported today we hope we can win our last 5 as big an order as that is.

To be fair to Jesus, he probably had more good touches when he came on than Aguero did in the 75 minutes before.

Our biggest danger is when we try to conserve energy & cruise. Any Premier League game, in particular, can change very quickly when a team slacks off.

Apart from finishing, we did everything perfectly, until that slack spell.

As soon as we started passing the ball sharply again, Palace couldn't get near it.

You could see from when Palace scored though, how difficult this game could have been. Imo, this was as difficult a game as any we have left.

Much better passing today, would like us to move it quicker though. Sterling norm, our best player by a country mile at present. Big shouts to Vinny and KDB, great performances. Sergio needs to get up to speed asap or he will be dropped. Over to you Scouse twats

Thought Walker looked like the player we signed today, had a task of keeping Zaha quiet and did so very well for 60 mins, helped by Sterling and Kev putting a shift in as usual.

Sterling after his miss was superb, Kev looks fit again which bodes very very well for us. Aguero still not sharp and Sane showed enough to be ahead of Mahrez.

Come on City, qualify mid week and 3 points next weekend and losing against Spurs is 100% vilified.
