I prefer Dias + Gvardiol mostly. I'm worried that Ait Nouri is a liability on defense. And I don't think that we have a true RB. Given all of this, I agree that Khusanov should probably start against pacy sides unless we somehow address the lack of pace on defense.

For me, Cherki was OK - but gave the ball away, way too often. Some of his attempted passes were spectacular, but none worked out.

I'm definitely hoping he can contribute a bit more than he has so far .... he has the stature, and ability to boss a game like Messi did, but he needs to show it more ... too many passes he's trying at the moment aren't finding their targets, or hurting the opposition.

I wouldn’t read too much into preseason games. However, in a normal competitive game we should never allow a second tier team to attempt 9 shots.

Ait Nouri had a reputation for looking good going forward, but not looking so good defensively, even during his Wolves days ... and that was absolutely true, because I asked a few Wolves fans their opinions of him on one of their forums BEFORE we signed him.

If we are to improve our defence we need to bring in full backs who can 'work as one' with our central defenders, cover competently for each other, and make defending their priority ... or we are always gonna get hit on the break, and struggle to deal with balls hit 'over the top'..... if we don't get the back line right, including the keeper, then we always gonna 'ship' goals, and points!

Well he hasn't played many, so we have to give him time, but much is expected of him because of his talent and reputation, and it's down to HIM to him to step up to the plate, and help make this team 'tick' , Pep and his coaches can only do so much ..... Cherki needs to work on the training ground to integrate with the rest of the team more effectively and improve his own game .. that's the ONLY way he will become a better player, both in Premier League football and internationally!

As with all our players , they have to put in the work and the performances .... if they don't they can only ask questions of themselves.

They need to make it difficult for Pep to leave them out .... no matter what the quality of the opposition!
