Pappis Demba Cisse to Newcastle

Think they have an excellent transfer policy. If they keep their best players and add more quality. Can see them doing really well. Think they will challenge arsenal and Liverpool properly this season.

There is a very very long list of strikers with great records not doing it in the prem
Djibril Cisse comes to mind
Everytime I watched pappis I kept thinking this guy is so made for the PL. He is basically a quicker version of Darren Bent and a better finisher. He's a proper nr 9

So was Jon Dahl Tomasson
Darko Kovacevic
Patrick Kluivert
Diego Forlan
Mario Jardel (unbelivable until his mind went and his weight with it)
Sergei Rebrov
Guivarch
and finally and certainly not forgetting the one and only
Mr Shevchenko

All briliiant but could not do it in the Prem
Not saying he wont but there are many failures with good reputations

Cisse all the qualitys needed to be good in the Prem, kinda a copy of Aguero without the incrediable dribbling skill. But hes a clever, quick nd efficient Player nd had a great attitue in Freibrung, seems enough to me nowdays.

Saw a list before, I think it was:
Tim Krul
Cheick Tiote
Yohan Cabaye
Demba Ba
Pappis Cisse
Hatem Ben Arfa

Cost £500,000 less than Andy Carroll. Imagine if the Scousers got that lot instead of shite like Downing, Henderson and Carroll himself? If it wasn't as clear as mud they were fucked over before, it certainly is now. Don't think you'll see too many Geordies moaning about Ashley's investment anymore. He's got them back on the right track, fair play.

After spending time in Senegal I've learnt quite a bit about this guy. He is a class act and is tipped to be the new star of Senegal. Brilliant business by Newcastle. Just watch Senegal in the African cup, sow, demba ba and cisse leading the line, theyre going to rip it up

We should go all out for sow to replace tevez

You can add Kezman to that list

Never heard of him and I bet most have not

Heard of him, never seen him play, but you are right, the amount of people who have seen these players play, do they have jobs? or do they get their information from football manager? That's not to say some people haven't seen him play though.

Saw his record on wikipedia and a few highlights on youtube, good pedigree.

dude its the german league, not the romanian league. Its on espn and some people follow teams from other countries. I watch alot of Dortmund games when ever City aint playing. And Cisse has been one of the stars in the league since he came there 2 years ago. Also the people bringing up those failed players are forgetting one thing. All of those played the big clubs in the smaller teams. Cisse played for one of the worst teams in the bundesliga and was scoring for fun, with better service he will be a monster

I've only ever seen him a handful of times for some club that starts with an F (the name slips me right now).

He looked pretty good actually, but I wasn't amazed or anything. But then again, those were only a few matches against the good Bundesliga teams.

Bundesliga strikers don't always cut it in the premier league. Take a look at Dzeko for instance. BL monster, but only 'good' in the Prem.

You would expect people that actually bother to join football forums are passionate football lovers, right?

I for instance watch whatever football streams there are if I'm home (especially on the weekends).

You'd be suprised at how religiously world football is followed.

And for fucks sake, this is Bundesliga we're talking about. One of the most watched leagues on the planet with matches broadcasted all over the world. This isn't no Mexican second division.

I think someone might be leaving if they're trying to get him in though.

Probably be Amoeba, maybe Liverpool will stump up £25m for a young, up and coming, English striker with potential :p Christ, just checked and I didn't realise he was 30 now and eligible for a testimonial!!!

I rate Leon Best more than him. They could get rid of Lovenkrands, he isn't getting many games this season I think.

Never heard of him but his record is good. However very few players hit the ground running in the January transfer window. And for him he'll have even less time

I watch a lot of football but it's in the order:

1) City
2) Premiership
3) Barca and Real Madrid
4) Serie A
5) Germany never unless a German team is playing in the Champions League

So he is at the African cup of nations? Newcatle fans ill be very nervy with arguably there two best players and there new signing all hoping not to get injured - same as us with Yaya

I just wrote an article in King of the Kippax which included a paragraph on how I thought he could be the answer to our lack of depth up front.

Bit pissed off this player slipped under the club's radar.

His goal record for a very average team in a good league speaks for itself but watch him play and he's a real leader up front. Could be the signing of the season this.

I've never actually heard of him, but you can't argue with that scoring record in Germany.

Newcastle are building themselves a really good team at the moment, Krul, Cabaye, Jonas, Tiote, Ba, Ben Arfa, Coloccini, and now this Cisse bloke. They are looking like the best side outside the top 6, wouldn't be surprised if they qualified for the Europa League at the end of the season.

It really worries me that so many Bluemooners with thousands of posts under their belt have not heard of a player of this quality.
Why? I don't watch German football. Ever. Why on Earth would I know who a bloke who plays for Freiburg is? If he played for a team that was in European competition regularly then I would likely know of him. I also can't name you the Mainz forward line, or who plays at right back for Augsburg in case you were wondering.
