He doesn't have them but they proved they can challenge if they get their house in order and to do it with a twat like Pardew tells us all that with a decent manager they could push the likes of Everton regularly.

Biggest underachievers without question given the location , the support base and the history.

Its about the only thing Pardew has said that rings true in his tenure , the are a big club with a small mentality starting with the current owner.

Support, location and history mans nothing. In the 90's they should have won something on numerous occasions but now they are also rans that are happy with top ten finishes. For as long as they have Ashley in charge and they sell their best players to the highest bidder they will never do anything. They are a selling club with a revolving door and Ashley is happy to have someone like Pardew steer the club in the direction he wants.
