Paris 2024 Olympics Thread - 11th August (pg 430)

What an epic performance that was. Thought he'd lost that numerous times and every time he just fought back. Even on that last lap when the french guy attacked and opened up a gap, he still had enough to pull it back and attack again.

A brilliant run by Pidcock, considering he had that puncture.

To make a gap of 47 seconds or so back was phenomenal.

I really thought Koresky had won it, when he made that break, but all credit to Tom for regaining the lead and holding on for the gold.

He was levels above that field, superb performance.

When the French lad attacked I've no idea how he reeled him in, he looked broken.

Wonder what the ancient Greeks would have made of some of the Olympic events?

Beach Volleyball, Breaking, Cycling, Golf, Skateboarding, Sport Climbing, Surfing, Table Tennis, Trampoline etc.

Bring on the Athletics ASAP.

They had some weird events in the ancient Olympics aswell. Painting and Poetry were events

A British crowd would have done the same if situation was reversed.

Shame they missed however Pidcock caught the biggish gap up.
Why? They both knew that split in the track was coming the French guy could have taken it and Pidcock seized the moment and handed him his derrière

Perfect run from Tom McEwan, any penalties from the next 3 and he medals, 1 of which is also our rider, hopefully she has a perfect run.

I meant they missed the catch before that - the co-comm said she missed it too.

The final pass was a mistake by the Frenchman in taking the route he did.
