Yeah, usually there's the performance for about an hour and then the athletes come out and I switch it off. There's no way I'm sitting through four hours of boats going along a river.
 
Thought that was Gaga. Apparently not.

When you try and celebrate things your country has given to the world...and then think, fuck it, chuck em all in boats and wave some fans about.

Where's the burning tyres? The left wing marches? Cheese? Where's the cheese?
The start was very New Wave cinema and I thought "Right, here we go." And it lasted about 5 minutes.
 
No baguettes
No pan au chocolade
No croissants
No brioche
Very disappointing so far.
 
Just say "right we are open for business - in fact we have been for 2 days " and get on with it?

Its the first opening ceremony not to be held in the stadium - should be the last. London 2012 was way better - told a story
 
Ah, this is the bit where they pretend that half the builders working on Notre Dame are women.

Anyway, nice to see Assassin's Creed get a shoutout.
