Paris - bistro/restaurants?

I'd recommend Pierre Ganyere.

Amazing place and really good value for money.

About £350 for two not including wine for 5 plate assiette.

I've heard good reviews, but have never been. While £350 might represent good value for two from a 3 star gaff (not forgettinh the wine adds real cost), not sure it represents overall value if you reference the fact that your meal there will cost more than your flights and hotel to Paris?

Would love to go, but the older I get the tighter I seem to become..so won't be for a long time.

I was having a bit of fun with the OP, but I know where you are coming from.

Ganyere is amazing, and in the context of value for money, an absolute steal.

A guy with three stars for 25 years, that's amazing consistency and speaks volumes for the food, better than I ever could.

Admittedly, the older I get, I tend to reserve odd splurges to experiences you will never ever get elsewhere.

Use this as your rule of thumb, the guilt is never there.

I have read somewhere that spending money on "experiences" brings longer term happiness than on material things and I tend to agree.

I'll go one day, but it might have to be for a 40th birthday or 10th wedding anniversary to justify the splurge.
