DD alert!!

If we can control the midfield and prevent giving them space in behind, I think we stand a very good chance. Bayern's high line played in to their hands, although they still created a lot of chances (no Lewandowski was a huge loss for them).

I just hope Pep doesn't over think it. Our strongest line up, playing the way we have been all season stands a great chance against anyone. No point changing things, as its more likely to damage us than them.

Cautiously optimistic about this and expecting a close game, but hopefully we get a few away goals to give us a strong chance in the second leg.

They tend to be happy just playing on the counter. But Bayern created so many chances. They are a perfect away side. Sit in, defend deep and then play on the counter. We have been caught out plenty of times by teams like that. The rags for example.

The defensive line and Ederson's positioning will be vital to stop them. We will dominate the ball and create more chances I am sure of it. That's been the case in most of their CL games. They just take theirs when they get a chance. It has been their away performances against Barca and Bayern that have seen them through. But playing at home first they will probably look to be a bit more compact.

I think we will beat them purely because they might rely on the away game to get through and by that point we can have our noses in front and be ready for them. Our defensive line is generally deeper this season and Walker is one of the few people who can probably match Mbappe's pace. Ederson will need to be so alert though. Come out and clear it, no Bellingham style incidents please.

@Ric Please can we issue 24 hour bans to any blue who suggest that Pep "overthinks" champions league ties?

It's the most meaningless and baseless phrase in City history and it irritates me much more than it should the way that it's become some kind of cliche.

If only that were possible! It’s a lazy cliche as Pep prepares for every opponent throughout the season and people only analyse the line up or tactics if we lose and we are more likely to eventually lose in the CL.

For me it’s number two to...”why are you bothered, it’s not your money” when chatting about potential transfers.

Very difficult to stop a cliche once people buy into it as a fact. Good luck.

Team picks itself as many have said. Ederson and Walker will be key tonight to contain their counters.

The lads just need to keep a cool head. These are a top side and we can expect them to get goals against us so we just need to stick to the plan and put our chances away. Come on city!!!

That performance against Real was shameful. We were waving the white flag even during the first leg.
No we approached in a sensible manner in the circumstances which gave us the best chance of progressing. If I recall correctly David got injured during the home leg and that effected us badly. The main regret I would have was not seeming to go all out for a goal at the end of the 2nd leg when Madrid appeared to be running out of steam. The current team is in better shape than we were back then and I expect it will only be two very good displays by PSG that will put us out unless of course we!!!

Fan cliches...passed around in pubs and on the internet by people who don't know anything about football so much that they become an accepted truth. If Pep never changed the system for big games it would be "Pep has no plan B".

I find it quite sad how this is one of our biggest games of the last 10 years and there is zero mention of Aguero playing. I know football and time moves on but still, it’s moments like this where you realise what your losing
