One thing I’ll say about PSG is that they won’t be working as hard off the ball as city.

that front 3 won’t be doing much pressing

a fantastic team on the ball but off it they’re petulant and play for themselves

the two legs of the CL semi were both pretty straight forward wins
Their squad is much better this season. They've signed Donnarumma, Hakimi, Wijnaldum, Messi and Ramos (even though he's injured for the first game, he'll be back for the second).

I don't really disagree with anything else you've said. But if any one of Messi, Mbappe or Neymar has a special game they'll beat us tonight.

3 games in 8 days away to 3 of the 5 best sides in the world.

Do you rotate and focus on the massive league game, or do you see this week as an opportunity to lay down the biggest of all gauntlets to every side in Europe and challenge the world to stop us winning everything?

After Chelsea I wanted to rest for this game, as I said on the first page of this thread, but I've changed my mind a bit now. I think winning these 3 games in the way we beat Chelsea would be one of the biggest statements of Pep's time at the club.

I'd play almost the full strength side, and make changes after 70 minutes to give people like Bernardo, Rodri and KDB a rest before Anfield.
Absolutely my feelings too. You could make an argument that they are actually the three best teams in the world apart from us. I also wanted to rotate heavily in the knowledge that even if we lose this game we will qualify. But now I'm looking at the prospect of three AWAY wins against those teams which, silverware aside of course, but represent the best week in the club's history.

We've only had three days recovery but so have they. I think the only changes will be Mahrez and maybe Sterling, to motivate them and show belief as much as anything.

I think the best 5 club sides in the world are us, Bayern, Chelsea, PSG and Liverpool. Don't really care about the order as I think anyone can beat anyone on their day.

To beat 3 of the other 4 in a week would surely make the players' confidence absolutely sky rocket and give them the belief they can win all 4 competitions.

It's early in the season, but everyone's had a few games to get up to speed. If there's any time they can do a real 3 match week at full intensity it should be now.

We can rest everyone vs. Brugge if needed. Mahrez, Sterling and Stones might come in, but I'd like only 1 or 2 changes and to keep that high intensity core of Rodri-Bernardo-Foden-KDB in the middle of the pitch - that's where our best performances come from.

Exactly this. Rotation is expected for all players at City but you have to imagine a big part of convincing Grealish to leave Villa was the promise that he'd be playing huge games like this regularly. He'll start here and on Sunday, as he should.
It's a squad game and Raheem is still a good option on the left. Given his struggles at a full Anfield I would be tempted to start him versus PSG and Grealish versus the dippers. The latter will get plenty of games in the Champions League and cannot expect to be given preferential treatment.

Bloody tough run of games and hopefully players still be fresh enough for Liverpool, don’t think we will push forward and press at the same level v Liverpool as they do have loads of players who will just bypass the press and lump it long over the top to Salah and mane which if we’re really high up pressing could leave us really exposed

tonight if we can keep them out first half or get an early goal hopefully true to form their heads will drop or go, I also don’t think PSG will fight like mad as they will feel like we do even if they lose tonight they will still go through

2-2

Actually, yes, I forgot about Bayern. I agree on your five.

Exactly this. Grealish has played in almost every game for us this season, I would rest him againts PSG and use him vs pool, and Sterling def. deserves a shot too.

It's a fine balance. We could aim for winning all three, give everything but get unlucky and lose to PSG to a moment of brilliance, and then be too tired to beat Liverpool at Anfield... walking away with 1 out 3.

Or we could be sensible tonight, grab a draw with some rotation and go at Liverpool with fresh players and win and walk away with 2 wins and a good away draw at PSG.

Gotta make sure we don't bite off more than we can chew. Not saying I don't agree with the enormity of winning all three, but realistically it's a huge ask and not the most sensible call potentially to go hell for leather. Lots of risk, though a big reward.
