Paris Saint-Germain (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Brilliant performance, the Jesus sub changed the game. Some of our defending was a bit questionable on a couple occasions, especially for the goal, but aside a total performance.

Gundogan was my man of the match, what a superb footballer, a few of our fans wrote him off, but he's the captain and imo deservedly so. Controls the game so effortlessly and helps us create loads of chances.

Bernardo was superb again, close call for motm but won't be mad either way as to who gets it. Also Walker gets a special mention, to control that ball from Rodri in the air and cut it across was outstanding, he was everywhere on the right and I think this is the best version of Walker we have seen since he's been at the club, he needs far more respect from general public and media than he gets.

Top result, no new injuries, qualification secured and did not have to rely on Foden or KDB at all. Up the blues!

The people who 18 months ago were saying Gundogan is rubbish are, and there’s no polite way of saying this, thick as pig shit.

great win, and we won from behind as well just to add that into the mix

we were clearly the more rounded unit and carried ourselves very well without the higher creative talents of Foden, Grealish and de Bruyne. Silva excellent, Rodri great, Walker was too.

i still think PSG carry a very strong threat, even when seemingly playing poorly they can break at pace. They werent good last night but have personnel that can clear one off the line, play a great pass or score a wonderful goal, so for that reason they can turn up on a day, but they aren't a great team.

That performance just confirms that as a team City just get better and better with total commitment and control.

Every player is of the one mind and that is for the team and its performance.

Brilliantly easy to draw a comparison with a much hyped and underperforming example of the complete opposite who always receive undeserved praise from our media and are actually struggling to find the way forward. Even topping their very weak group is hardly an achievement of any note.

PSG have the superstars and some very decent players , but they were forced into playing on the break and then relying on a cross which defelected off a City player ( not mentioned at all by the commentators ) before arriving at the feet of Mbape to tap in. Totally against the run of play , yet heralded as great play by PSG .

City on the otherhand drove PSG back and worked their own magic to score the winning goals.

Beautiful and deserved win from a fabulously hard working and talented team.

Watching that game just proved to me that the question has been answered, once and for all. Of the two modern greats Messi is not fit to be mentioned in the same conversation as Ronaldo. A petulant, lazy, hand-on-hips, can’t be arsed prima Donna.
A disgraceful footballer. An Argentine Joe Cole.
Thank the lord above we weren’t stupid enough to actively pursue him.

He barely had a touch yesterday I agree, but the rest of this post is complete nonsense.

He’s 100x the player Ronaldo ever was.

we made one of the most expensive teams ever play on the break.......one of the most feared front 3 look average (and I wouldnt have any of that front 3 - messi, neymar or mbappe....all really lazy and playing for themselves - compare them to B.Silva and his work rate combined with their skill....Messi has age as an excuse but Im not sure about the other two...always thought Neymar had a questionably attitude and was a show pony but surprised at Mbappe (maybe its cause they have it too easy every week).

B.Silva, Rodri Cancello Sterling Zinchenko Gundogan were all fantastic....as was Dias and Walker at the back (noteably after our last game against them Mbappe switched sides last night for a lot of the game......and whn he did go near walker again walker had him in his pocket). Walker has clearly been working on his delivery from wide as well...its gotten a lot better than previous seasons (and not because of his involvement in the first goal bu on numerous times over the last few games its been really notable)

PSG are flat track bullies and will get knocked out before the final

completely agree with your post, what I would add is the need for season ticket holders who don't attend Champions League matches please come to the next round because the day trippers/ tourists do my head in , why do they have to film everything on their phones.
