Part time City fans!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest even as a Hughes in person I kind of hope he does go who ever steps in has a below average season just to see everyone on heres reaction. Because I really don't think it will be as bad as the treatment Mark Hughes has recieved from people. Every so called "top" manager has one club on his CV where it didn't work out. replacing Hughes with say Mourinho as the "ITK" keep banging on about doesn't mean we will be top 4 or 6 no one can guarantee that but my gut feeling is stick with Hughes it will happen next season

Is what most of the 'hughes out' brigade on here are. A few years ago when under pierce and scrapping in a relegation battle i bet every fan would have prayed for in 4 years time to be a steady top 8/10 club, with a decent manager and bags of cash which he knows how to spend wisely. And dont tell me that his signings have been shit: Given, Kompany(6MIL!), de jong, swp, zabaleta, have all been class signings. Hughes is just getting his team together and building it and over the summer im sure he'll make alot more signings to improve the team.

We sack him now and get a new manager, he has a clear out and gets a few players he wants and ends up finishing 9th, we sack him and its an ongoing cycle.

Most fans on here love sven and dont know why he was sacked, when getting us to finish ninth, hughes is going to get us to finish 8th, 9th or 10th similar to sven and we want to sack him. Hughes needs time and the club needs concistency, something which we have had in the past 25 years changing managers all the time. HUGHES IN!
Best post ive read on here this

And thats your cohesive arguement for him staying. KEEP STABILITY FOR STABILITY SAKE and not because he's done anything to prove he's earned it.

JO 14, I see what you're saying but I still just don't know. Agree about most signings, but I just think that, if given the entire pre-season, there are people who could do a much better job.

In Sweden we call it fingertip feeling, don't know if you use that expression but it basically means a good sense of what's going on as it happens, and what to do to change the outcome of a game. I think MH lacks this fingertip feeling - when his gameplan works then it's fine, when it doesn't he's to say the least very hesitent to change what's going on, and there's just no coming back for us. For me this was Sven's biggest flaw as well, but if MH has a weak bench now then SGE had an extremely weak bench.

I am still on the fence a bit but I think at this moment it's better to get someone new in...I'm all for stability but for me MH just isn't good enough for where we want to be...basically if we concede a goal we're fucked, that's the way it's been this season.

To back this up there is of course the facts....and those are that the sums of money availible to Manchester City are much greater than last season, and yet overall Manchester City has been a worse team this season, there is no denying that. We might still end up 9th like last season, but we will still have at least 5 points less.

Yes, we have taken 5 or 6 points more this spring compared to the same period last year, but that doesn't change the facts for me - overall we've been worse.

As I said I'm still on the fence, but I fear for another wasted season as well. Still hoping Hughes will come good but at the moment I'd rather have someone else in. The main reason being MH's arrogance in the press, stating that he thinks he's done a great job and deserves more credit.

I'm not saying Sven is the man for the job, but since Sven was only given one season and this season is all but over, I now think we have enough to compare the two. So, I suppose this depends on how you look at it but for me MH has done a slightly worse job than his predecessor, who never went out and said he'd done a great job. Especially with the financial circumstances I'd even say MH has done a lot worse. So frankly after a statement like that, followed by yet another away loss, Hughes can fuck right off IMO.

one of best posts of day, and cant agree more. give the guy time.

Exactly, couldn't agree more.. like the post that I left on the similar subject....

FFS! lets just give the man a year, see what he does.

Q: How many of the top 6 teams have changed their manager as much as we have?
A: One at a push - Chelsea but the spine of the team was Jose's and still is (and we know what Jose can do - he's an exception)

You've got Baconface, Wenger, Benitez, Moyes, O'niel in that list and O'niels had his job the shortest amount of time at 3 years!

We need some frigging consistency with the guy in charge before we can have consistency on the pitch. We have to give someone a decent spell in charge at some point and as its looking unlikely Jose will arrive in Manchester for the blue half (well 3/4 technically but thats spliting hairs ;) ) so why not just give him a year?

We'll all be singing his praises, like he wants in a year, IF we get somewhere - so lets give him a chance.

This is coming from a City fan since 1958
Missing very few games from 64-74, and not missing a game in 73/74 div 1 season.
I still get on average 8 games a season. I live quite far away!!
I'm not a part time City fan. I am a Manc and Blue Blood runs through my veins.

I am of the opinion MH is not the man for the job.
He is tactically inept and has not the ability to motivate top class players.
His backroom team have not got a clue how to instruct players to defend.
Hughes team selection is stubborn and mystifying.

He should be sacked at the end of the season.
Who should we bring in?
I think M. Jol would be a fine manager.

I think a lot of City fans want Hughes out. Many of them certainly not termed part time!!!!

That's because we are bitter that Sven was sacked and can't accept the double standards used to support Hughes when Sven was fired for them.

very true god i remember the good old days lol first city game lol against Birmingham in Div 2. Terry Cooke scored 1-0 lol
