a taser gun must affect the rythem of the heart or affect it in a way that could contribute to massive heart failure wont be long before they get there arse's sued by the familly of a deceased person,last i heard these were going to be standard kit for police

I think they are becoming far too readily used in this country. We had the case of the local lad the other week at the ice cream place. They can be deadly weapons and in my opinion should only be used when the police feel there is no other safe way of restraining a person.

Every case should be judged on its merits and we don't know the full story here. But my initial thoughts are a pissed up bloke who clearly isn't armed could be quite easily restrained by trained officers without the need for this.

I'd be interested to read what the official guidelines are for police as to when they should and shouldn't use them.

In the US its 544 deaths in 12 years but considering without the taser they would of just shot the people with a highly propelled lump of lead I would say the taser is saving lives over there

The 'they' here invariably means, when a fucking big cheque is being written out for some shitehawk with a fancy lawyer, US or WE! Public money from the bottomless pit!
