Yeh, we've just won 4-1, some good attacking play, but i think there were a few bad points from todays game.

The number of times we kept passing it back to the keeper. We were 3-0 up and cruising, the defence passing it about to each other, andpassing it back to the keeper. Its poor play IMO and cost us a goal that should never have come.

They did the same against wolves. When we've got the ball, we want to be moving forward, and not giving them a chance to pressure us and put Given under pressure.

Spain, Barcelona do it. It's what you do when you keep possesion and control the game.

Top sides dont force the play and give the ball away cheaply. Top sides pass it round the back four and keeper untill an opening appears and these players are an outlet when something is not on for the midfielders. The fact that you are only bringing this observation up now after 4 games tells alot about how you are watching the games.

Given is a very good keeper, but his distribution is shit. We should limit balls back to him wherever possible. Its up to the midfielders to give outlets to the defenders

This is a quality aspect that Mancini has brought to our game imo. When we have the ball it is better to retain it rather than give it away. Numerous times ealier in the season we just lumped it forward hoping for it to stick and it hardly ever did. We are much more potent with the ball at our feet hence the 4 wins in 4. It is also a good ploy to have as it draws teams further up the ptich leaving space for Bellers, Tevez and Petrov to exploit. Im all for paaing it back to the keeper and retaining possession.

Italian football, passing between the back four and keeper, it's a good tactic to slow down the game, and let players get back into position, take a breather. It's controlling possession.
