No, some may be issued in ,say August but have an expiry of maybe October, post brexit they are now no longer vaid for the Augut - October period and expire August (10 years after issue date), well 3 Months before August really.

are you saying that in France they'll take the expiry date as your issue date plus 10 years, not what it might say in the passport?

I'd say so ,yes, but maybe check with a travel agent if you can.

10 years since October 2012 is October 2022 (which will be 5 months away on the day of the game / my return to the country)

You should just make it then cos according to this you have to have at least three months left of the 10 years after the issue date when you leave the EU.
