Chelsea and Manchester City have been put on alert by the news that AC Milan will reportedly let Alexandre Pato leave the club in January.

Pato has been on Chelsea's radar for some time, with reports during the summer transfer window suggesting the Blues were preparing to launch a £30million bid for the Brazil international.

And according to Calciomercato.com, Serie A champions Milan are prepared to let the 22-year-old leave the San Siro in the New Year providing they receive an offer in the region of £40m.

Manchester City are also believed to be keen on the forward, while cash-rich French side Paris Saint-Germain are rumoured to be considering a bid.

Pato has fallen out of favour with Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri in recent weeks, with the 44-year-old warning the youngster that he is no longer an automatic pick in his starting line-up.

And with Allegri believed to be keen on signing a midfielder during the January transfer window, it is thought that he could be willing to cash in on Pato to generate funds.

Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool, is believed to be on Milan's radar.

Pato had said during the summer following reports linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge that he wanted to "respect" his deal with the Serie A champions.

But Barbara Berlusconi, daughter of AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi - and Pato's girlfriend - later admitted that none the club's players are unsellable.

Taken from an Italian paper

My dream would be offloading Tevez for him

Don't want him personally. Good player but not great, is very injury prone, and is well known for his party boy lifestyle in Milan. And it says something that Milan are looking to sell him.

I don't think we don't need another pure striker to unbalance the playing time of our three great strikers, rather have a wide forward like Lavezzi or someone and have Guidetti/Scapuzzi as our last resort striker(s).

We have Aguero, Dzeko and Balo. I have no idea why we would buy him, unless Balo forces his way to Milan, but I doubt that will happen at least for a couple of years

i like pato, as a player, a lot.
He has great speed and skill, but just needs to work on his finishing.

can be devastating when in form...needs to find this form on a more consistant basis before he could be placed above any of our current 3 strikers.

His goal against Barca shows the potential he's got.. Actually when he plays he's good, but the problem is the number of times he doesn't because of injury

Pato in his Brazil national team also perform not good enough,
his finishing not so well, his speed also not fast........

Moreover, he enjoy go to bar or nightclub before,
I don't hope this habit spreading to other man city teamate.

LOL how times have changed we fans are saying no to Pato. I mean come on!!

The guy is 22 and 50 goals in 105 league games for Milan, all whilst being injured alot.

Maybe not worth £40m but saying no because he is inconsistent, crap at finishing, doesn't play for Brazil? Major LOL.

I wouldn't choose him over any of Edin, Mario or Sergio. He may not be as crap as some are suggesting but he's not as good as what we already have.

Agreed...even though he comes from Internacional the club I hate, he is a really great second-striker (not near as effective as a straight-up number 9, comparable to Hulk from Porto). Has plenty of pace about him, when on form he can be a top-scoring winger, just think of the player he could turn out to be if he can get these injuries behind him.

Imagine him playing alongside Balotelli in the future, woooooo
