If he was as good as you claim, he'd have done more in spite of all that. "Head and shoulders" better than Kevin de Bruyne? Bernardo Silva? Riyad Mahrez?

Who've all achieved more than him at a higher standard of football by the way.
 
A bit of a myth of how good he was at that tournament & England as a whole.

we drew with Ireland & Holland & then won 1 nil v plucky Egypt, won 1 aet v Belgium, beat a better Cameroon with 2 dives from lineker before going out to pens as per.

I loved him but in those days but I didn’t realise how influenced I was by the media. He came across as one of us, got pissed & made mistakes but I look back & think he had flashes of amazing brilliance & lots of fvk all. He’s closer to Mario than Phil.

He’s a bloke who leathered his missus whilst she got painted as a gold digger. Blokes a ****!

But he did come up with the idea of Uber eats when he deliverered kfc to a murderer.

Italia 90 was a very low scoring defensive so it was difficult for any player to stand out. But besides that he was certainly England's best player performance wise in the 90,s.

He showed a lot more than flashes of brilliance for England.

You can't compare gazza with foden because foden is playing with a team who own the ball against 90% of teams they play against.

Gazza played for a mediocre spurs side. And please ballotelli. Gazza was a far intelligent and disciplined player than ballotelli. Ridiculous comparison.

If Foden had the luxury of playing for a mid table team where discipline & possession isn’t important the highlight reels would be massive.

Phils faster, more skilful & miles better than that bum.
