paul lake......never forgotten..

im the same age as Lakey and even though 'heroes' are usually older than you are, Lakey was and still is for me.
Every blue has to get a copy of his book. Im half way through it and have lauged and cried already. Going back to the 70's/80's in the 1st few chapters was like opening my mams old photo album. It brings back some fantastic memories not just from City but life generally. Brilliant read.

I got the book earlier this week. Just like others have said, I too couldn't put it down. It's very emotional at times but also has plenty of laughs in it.

I was lucky enough to be at most of the City games that Lakey mentions . I'm glad I didn't bump into while he was out though, as I'm sure the first words out of my mouth would have been "how's the knee?"

Lakey is the only player that would make it into both my favourite City 11 and the best City 11 I've seen.

Him and the rest are why I am blue. Used to collect pots in the players lounge in the late 80s (thank you Helen) and the whole team were fantastic. Gerry Taggart was a favourite of my Dad's as he grew up on Madrid Street in Belfast, like my Father. Lakey, Brightwell and Hinchcliffe were top class always.
