Paul Pogba

I've just checked that period you're referring to when he was at Juventus (presumably his first spell with them?). That was 8 years ago. He isn't that player anymore.

Thing is he probably isn’t the player he was at United either.

He’s gone through and insane few years with the kidnapping and ban, he’s got more money than he will ever spend but if he wants more I’m sure a club in Saudi would pay him a ton just because of his profile, so presumably if he’s choosing a proper club (be that city or someone else) he’s coming back with something to prove and probably a very different attitude to football.

I’d love to see it just as an experiment. Can the best coach in the game bring back the player Pogba promised to be. It’d also be interesting to see if the enforced break from football has given his body time to heal or if he’s more injury prone than ever because he’s been out of the top level so long.

I think he would qualify as club trained from a PL squad rule perspective, so that could be a useful attribute if we’re going to let someone like McAtee leave, and the remaining foreign places in the squad are being taken by ‘bigger’ signings.

Basically if he is club trained then he would boost the depth of the squad without impinging on other signings.

A lot of strange OTT hate.

Boss on his day
He WAS a baller, but this is a “What have you done for me lately?” business and Pep demands a collegial dressing room, so he’s not ticking any relevant boxes in 2024, let alone ‘25-26!

I would, prancing pony
That's why I prefaced it as him learning from this experience and looking to make the most of what he will have left. At 32 though he'd just be a stop gap if anything but we have done it in the past plenty of times.
