On one side, we get a homegrown potentially world-class midfielder for what I assume would be relatively low wages considering where he is in his career which can open up the possibility of putting funds elsewhere in the market, lets face it we need more than 1 or 2 in the midfield alone.
Realistically we get a injury-prone media circus of a perennial underachiever who has already lost too many years to remain sharp in top level football.
If the powers that be (who hasn't got everything right the last couple of year but I am still prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt) deems it a win-win scenario I will happily go along with it.
