It certainly is an interesting story and while, like you, I've no intention of defending Tevez, it's one in the eye for the likes of Redknapp (and any mouthy reds) who say this would never happen at United. You could even argue that if the Scholes and Tevez incidents are taken in isolation, that what Scholes did was actually worse because he refused to even travel with the squad.
That said, Scholes is obviously far less of a twat than Tevez and wasn't causing trouble every other week but it also shows that United have also had their problems dealing with players taking the piss down the years despite what the media would have us believe. Speaking of which, I don't recall there being much of a media shit storm from pundits aplenty when this happened with Scholes despite it being reported at the time. Not that I'm shedding any tears over the lack of sympathy for Tevez of course.
