Just going back to the Bale thing for a minute. If Madrid sign
him then Isco has made one fucking bad decision joining them.
He would then find himself behind Ronaldo and Bale.

Yeah I know but his dad will be happy

€£€£€
I wonder if Madrid might make Ozil available if they sign Bale and replace him with Isco?

There is a more realistic changce of Di Maria being available if they sign Bale .Also I think Isco signing has pushed Kaka towards the exit Door , not Ozil .

If Paulinho was the real deal, then there would have been a long queue of clubs eager to sign him at the kind of money the tightfisted Levy is happy to pay. There would be a number of clubs in this country alone who could have paid it, likewise the big guns in Spain, one or two in Italy, and a few in Russia also. Yet no-one did. This tells me something about the player.

To be honest I disagree. I rate Fernandinho very highly, but Paulinho's Conf Cup performances were highly impressive. He also is coming off the back of two seasons in Brazil where next to Neymar he was the preeminent and most consistent performer in the league, at least according to several Brazilian journalists and football commentators.

We've both signed top players IMO.

Madrid still have Modric aswell. Creativity wise they're well
overstocked, and it would be taking the piss if they did nab
Bale. Modric would interest me if I was the City boss, lovely
player.

Whilst it looks like he is on paper I think Scolari has been really pushing to use plenty of players from the Brazilian league as a way of creating a real identity and pride in the team from the fans.

As has been said Jo is there and has played and he hasn't even done that well in Brazil but hes well known and playing in the Brazilian League.

Personally I think Fernandinho is the better player, a lot more proven anyway.

Of course you will say that

there is a reason why Fernadinho isnt in the national team and Paulinho is. It's not like Paulinho was playing for one of the big teams in Europe either...

Plus Paulinho cost 17m, fernadinho 30m, and fernandinho is 28 years old. That's a huge free for a player that age who isnt a house hold name like yaya toure was

Yes because playing for Brazil isnt frowned upon but playing for Shaktar in Ukraine is. Care to explain why Willian was ignored who is better than any attack mid in the Brazil squad that played in the confed

Besides these two are different players. I liken Paulinho more to Vidal. Fernandinho more to De Rossi.

Pretty spot on comparison imo, for what it's worth I think both players are quality, though I think the Brazilian Shakhtar players have not been treated entirely fairly, Willian and Fernandinho were both absolute quality in the games I saw. Though I've heard Willian hasn't performed as well since moving to Russia. I wasn't convinced in the Confederations Cup that Hulk warranted his place above Willian or Lucas or even Bernard, but I was convinced by Gustavo and Paulinho, and even Oscar (who I though there might have been better alternatives for - specifically Hernanes).

Great Signing.

Top class box-to-box midfielder that can get in the box and score goals. Certainly a marked improvement from what they already have.

I tell ya, if spurs sign Villa, with Paulinho and manage to keep Bale, I don't see why they cant have a say in the title race. They probably wont win it but they could play an important role especially if they bring one or two others.

Levy seems to be a man that knows what he's doing.

Paulinho was good, although if Brazil had a weakness it was their midfield which was nowhere near as strong as it used to be

They won the tournament because of Neymar's brilliance game by game and through their intensity in the final which Spain could not live with

I'll tell you what Mr. Hoddle, it all makes for an even more
competitive premier league next season. Really looking
forward to it. Going to be some seriously strong looking
squads knocking about.

iv never been sold on modric iv always just seen him as someone who keeps the team ticking over in midfield without having an impact on the game, never seen the 30million pound player others have is it just me ?

Agreed never seen the hype that surrounds him either.
Think he'll rejoin Mourinho and head to Chelsea myself.

Except they got theirs for half the price and when you factor their ages in they'll get twice as long out of him

My theory is that City have told Spurs that they are willing to allow Spurs a free run at previous targets if they play ball on Bale. Not tat Levy would agree to a dropped price but just would not drag it out as he did with Modric, Berbatov and Mido!

We need a mobile CDM who can break up play but importantly also make play. Fernandinho will impress, trust me. I don't think blues know what we have here. They will soon and the tide will change. Bookmark this.
But Fernandinho didn't play CDM for Shakhtar he played CM he had Tomas
HUBSCHMAN playing CDM. I surprised no ones really gone for Gustavo very underrated imo he'd be a good fit at Chelsea.

Yes, but ours is experienced and proven in the Champions League and Champions League progress (= brand growth = new commercial opportunities + easier to attract players without paying obscene wages) is an immediate priority for City.

They are quit different in style, yet both very good. Lets hope ours pan out. Coz either could flop. They wouldn't be the first set of very good players who failed to do well in England. Nothing is full proof, but both are quality.

Let's hope it works out as we hope
