Paypal hacked

Got mine hacked a few weeks ago they took £100 managed to get it back, I fukced up I'd put something on Gumtree they texted asking if we could communicate via email, gave it to them and boom game over, cheeky bastards.

heard about this on the news recently its not actualy paypal who send the email its a scam , some arsehole's sitting behind a computer in afrika sending millions to people and hoping people dont relise.

barrrstards!

Word of advice, i dont want to scare you but just be 100 %.

Log into all your accounts from a family members pc outside your network and change all passwords again.
Chances are you have a key logger on your system sending all your internet keystrokes to someone else.

I have had 2 emails supposedly from paypal in the last fortnight saying I have added a new email address to my account, they look like paypal emails but go to my spam folder, I have ignored them and deleted as the emails say my account will be suspended if I don't respond which I am not bothered about, the thing is if I do respond to them and they are trying to scam me they have me if I do nothing and the emails are from paypal at worst my account gets suspended

Cheeky fuckers.

Got an email to say I my $5 purchase was being processed. Went into my account and someone has set-up 2 addresses in the US for deliveries.

How is this possible???

Download install both progs below, keep updating them manually until they are both up to date (this may take several updates)
Run a full AVG scan and then a full antispyware scan (the latter will take quite a long time) then follow the instructions it gives if it finds anything.

AVG FREE - <a class="postlink" href="http://www.filehippo.com/download_avg_antivirus/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.filehippo.com/download_avg_antivirus/</a>

Superantispyware free - <a class="postlink" href="http://www.filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/</a>

From now on you will have to manually update AVG when you boot the computer by right clicking the icon and selecting "update now" it only takes a few seconds to update.

Fished, you were fished mate. The email was not from pp but a fraud who made a similar page and url. Input data and boom your fucked.

So not a virus but if you want some free apps that are good and not lame shit try these.

The emails are probably fake, phone up paypal and they'll tell you.

I had mine hacked a few months ago, I phoned up paypal and they told me they locked my account because they thought it was "strange" I was buying things in the UK and france at the same time. Luckily they blocked the hacker in france and stopped him spending any of my money. I've never even been to france!

I had an email supposedly from paypal a while back saying something along the lines of I had reached my current spend limit with all my combined purchases and I needed to re-input my details to continue using paypal??

Not sure if it was a scam or not but I've ignored it and continued using paypal without a problem.

You click on the link in the email, that leads you to a FAKE login page, you log in there and it redirects you to the real paypal. But in the mean time these friendly (russian or nigerian mostly) people will also have your password for it.

So always check if the url bar says https://www.paypal.com

Or whatever else the official site for a bank is, sometimes it might look pretty similar but rarely will it also use https:// instead of http://

The https:// part means that your passwords are transmitted securely, and it is a lot harder to fake a site that uses it (all online banking and paypal do)

Get a good anti malware application someone may have installed some software to steal your passwords.
