PC or iMac?

First of all I dont wanna start no fanboy arguments or anything like that, I would simply like the pros and cons of owning an iMac.

I've always used PC's but keep being told how great these imacs are. Its coming up to new computer time so I'm pricing up different options. Obviously the imac is more expensive, but I like the idea of having an "all in one" machine to cut down on cables etc. I've not come across a PC alternative as yet in the same form.

So....is the iMac worth the extra money, or should I stick with trusty windows?

Thanks in advance.

I had PC's for years but got sick and fed up of viruses, pop ups, spyware and adware. Did my swede in. So about 3 years ago I went down the Mac route and bought an iBook. I was delighted with it. However, I have a rather sizable music collection and I needed more space and I wanted a quicker machine, so I went and bought an iMac in January. I did spec it up a bit and got iWorks too so by the time I'd finished, it cost me £880.

I bought my mac from Digital Store in Piccadilly Gardens (its in the same block as Kro 2). They offer 9 months interest free credit and give great advice, its far better than the Apple shop in the Trafford Centre cos you don't get a load of scroats in there messing about. They chucked me some extra memory in etc and it was ready for me to pick up the next day. They also offer a free 1 hour of training on software of your choice for up to 2 people in store at your convenience. Simples!!!!

Oh and i'd never go back to having a PC again!!!

Its mainly for my music collection, video and photo editing, email, browsing and the occaisional bit of work.

PC is certainly better on the pocket, but something is drawing me to the mac.....

Completely agree.

i got my macbook from the airport for £611 .will never let you down.my mates had pc after pc,and they dont last 2 minutes.loads of pc jargon and microsofts a joke....get a mac pal,you wont look back!!

a pc doesnt have to mean windows. you could try using linux. i got a new pc is january and have ubuntu (linux) and winodws both installed as a dual boot system. linux is very user friendly and easy to install plus you get to keep the option of upgrading your pc whenever you want.
