PC Problems

I seem to have developed some kind of virus/adware/spyware on my PC, it keeps throwing up random internet pages advertising things and makes my PC run quite slowly.

Can anyone recommend a decent downloadable spyware/firewall that will get rid of this sh*t, clearly whatever I've currently got isn't doing the job.

My reccomendations are
Avast Antivirus
Comodo firewall
Spybot S&D runs in the background and will ask you to approve any registry changes but also has a manual scan for spyware.
Adaware is worth a go too
Panda Activescan is a good online scanner, doesn't disinfect though.
