Can already see the starmer thread getting derailed so may as well have a seperate thread fot this new project

https://jacobinmag.com/2020/12/jeremy-corbyn-project-for-peace-and-justice-launch

Personally some of the names associated will see this ridiculed and given negative press.

Others will try and link it with what went on while he was labour leader and dismiss it from the start.

But if it's aim is to promote a more socially just global network then maybe people should read and listen beyond corbyn to what this project is saying.

Hopefully it isn't a vanity project for a man that has had a taste of the limelight in politics and cannot let it go.

I will remain open minded on this for now.

Also no point retreading old arguements on here, everyones opinion is set on corbyn as labour leader, this is a new venture thread not a raking
up old dicussions

Good interview where he'll once again be picked at.

I hope kicks off something positive as long as it doesn't get hijacked.

I suspect it will be aimed more at supporting criminals, alleged criminals, and groups targeting so-called Western interests where there's been allegations of impropriety with regards to the way those people have been treated. Sometimes Corbyn gets it right on those issues by campaigning against some wrongful convictions of IRA groups for example, but there's plenty of times he gets it wrong and ends up siding with some of the worst criminals imaginable. Either way, you have to laugh when he says 'it will bring people together'.

Is it a new party? What specifically are they planning on doing?

No it isn't a new party, it is a foundation to promote global peace and justice

Whether is evolves into one somewhere in the future is yet to be seen

The key word in this foundation is the word justice.

Corbyn won't be bothered about crime so by justice he means social justice and that makes it a political organisation.

Who said it wasn't a political organisation?

Of course it is

I think he’s absolutely delusional if he thinks he’s going to make any impact in bringing people together in Britain, never mind globally.

Considering his absolute hammering last December, his name isn’t very popular at all.

Don't think the aim is to win over an electorate here, it is a global foundation not a country specific one, will wait till the launch in Jan to see what it is all about properly before asuming anything

Though I expect Kasrils name on the list of speakers at the launch event will have some accusations fly at him

An example being?
