And Reis can play there, and even Rico in a pinch, not to mention RAN has played there, too.

We have plenty of cover there and stupid money for a back-up just isn’t going to happen. Bring in, or bring up, a young lad like Max Alleyne and teach him to be more versatile in training, and then give him a game there in the Cups.

If you’re a player, you can play there. If you count yourself as a defender, you should be able to play well there!
 
Dont get the hate for this transfer aside from being 15mil overpriced.

If Nunes gets injured, who then will play there?

Rico isnt up to standard. Someone said give Alleyne a game in cups, but what about a long-term injury to Nunes...would you feel confident Alleyne defending against the top wingers in the league? Reis/Khusanov would seriously limit attacking play down that flank.

A back-up RB is sorely needed

Flashbacks to last season, Bodo & rags away immediately spring to mind.
 
That money could be used to find a younger, faster, more explosive full back from South America, Portugal, or Spain. At worst, if the young player fails, he can still be a backup to Nunes, just like limited ceiling Porro would be if we bought him. But if he succeeds, we could end up with the next Hakimi or Mendes and take the team to another level like PSG did!

A reasonable chance that neither of Rico or Reis are at the club next year tbf.
