No I don't wind anyone up. Regardless of it being a United forum, on the whole it is a good place to have a discussion about football. Just like on here you get the obsessives who only see through blue tinted glasses, but because of the large number of fans from other clubs and the different people from round the world, you can get a more balanced view of football in general and take on board different opinions.

It has been good as well to correct some of them when they have been talking utter shite about us.

Are there any other blues on there that post? but maybe not like yourself use the same name?

Theres a lad who posts in the newbies bit. Think he is called m18ctid or something like that on both. I have not spoke to him for a while as I have not really had time to go on either forum. But he knows his stuff, he is far more knowledgeable about football than me. I seem to be a bit more placid though so I tend to keep the peace although I get abuse of some rags.

Newbies? whats that do you have to have so many posts before you post proper?

Few sites operate this you are restricted in which forum you can post and whether you can start a thread not based on posts but the mods see whether you aren't a dickhead and can act responsibly once you have done that you are granted access to all the boards functions.

I think we can all agree on the fact that we need a winger with bags of pace etc to bring something we have been lacking and theres plenty of names being mentioned, Lavezzi, Hazard, Robben, Ribery, etc, etc....
Ive given this some serious thought and he is potentially the best option out there in terms of age, fee required and quality combined. Im not so naive to think that hes going to be easy to pry away from barca by any means, but with sanchez' arrival, villa being deployed out wide, adriano and Affelay (when he returns from injury) fighting for a place and players such as Tello breaking through all for two positions it seems they have it covered if they were to loose a player. He has already fallen down the pecking order with sanchez arriving.
He has everything we require, speed, skill, drive to get forward, crosssing (a rarity in barca's game but whenever i have seen him cross its always got to its target), he doesnt have a weak foot (for years i always thought he was left footed and after doing some research it turns out he is naturally right footed and just has two equally telented feet), he can strike and finish a ball and has a very good eye for a pass.
Estimated transfer fee- between £25 and 30 million i reckon.
I have overlooked him so many times, and (now regretably) even commented about us buying elia, i maintain elia is a quality player who just needs to establish himself but he and pedro are a million miles apart.
What do you guys reckon? Is pedro the missing link?

Pedro is overrated.

Apart from the astronomical transfer release fee he has indicated he's content to see his role to remain part of a rotation system. As a result, he isn't remotely attractive as a future player in the EPL.

Elia meanwhile is very overrated. Conte grasped that after about two matches .....

Hrmm.. I feel the opposite, that he is very much running in the shadow of the Barcelona greats and therefore does not get nearly as much praise as he deserves.

I think his sub-appearances in the Euros showed a little glimpse of what he's capable of. A truly wonderful player in my opinion.

Would be a dream signing, never ever happening though

Yes, and that's unfortunately right.

I am not so sure. Some of these Spanish fringe players will look at Silva's situation. Not only has he won trophies and earned a good wage but it has also helped him break into the Spanish team as a regular starter.

A move to a club like City might be his opportunity to shine.

He's been injured for the majority of the season,it's why he's not played. guardiola absolutely loved him

Silva was leaving Valencia, highly in debt nad bound to never win anything but maybe a Europa league. Barcelona is quite different.
I know you already know all that, but I jut find it next to impossible to imagine Pedro leaving Barca.
If he was on the market though, he'd be easily be worth +€30mil.

I agree with what your saying and I think you are right. It would be more plausible for Martinez.

But I do think the way things have turned out for Silva come come in very handy for us with the Spanish players.

Disagree mate, no way will he cost that, £20 mill tops. Coz of wages and the fact he's transfer listed.

£20m for Pedro??

No way mate.

If we could bring in Martinez from Bilbao and Pedro from Barcelona, we'd have two young players capable of playing in roughly seven positions on the pitch.

Perdro has the work-rate of Tevez times two, is faster than Clichy, is equally comfortable on both wings and has a good shot with both feet. Pep called Pedro the best finisher at the club after Messi. He's the ultimate team player as well, always putting the interest of the team ahead of himself.

Landing him at 25mil would be the coup of the century.

lol I get the point your trying to make and I would be made up getting such a player at a that price.

Harts transfer fee was daylight robbery then if 25 million for Pedro is coup of the century :-)

are we actually in for this guy ? He's a good player but i think there's no chance he's coming, right?
