Two year deal is exactly what a club like ours with a structure like ours should be giving a manager who's unproven in the league, regardless of their record outside it. It ensures that the manager can never hold the club to ransom and that he must perform to get his contract extended. I'm surprised we haven't decided to go with a rolling one year contract reviewed every 12 months.
If it is Pellegrini and this is a done deal then even with my absolute fanboy love for Klopp, I'll be delighted we have secured a manager who is so highly respected both tactically and as a man manager. His Villareal team in particular were every bit as exciting and breath taking as the current Dortmund team even if they lacked the explosiveness and the quality of players that Dortmund currently have.
Happy days!
