Pellegrini: "We know exactly what we are going to do"

I think last nights performance by our reserves has finally put paid to any potential incomings this window.

I guess you are not taking the first half into account?

What?? So, in a game we won 5 nil you think someone will look at it and think the first half wasnt the best therefore we need reinforcements? Dont be silly. A football match is 90 mins. No one is brilliant all of the time you know.

Re: Pellegrini: "We know exactly what we are going to do"

If the 20th passes we'll not do anything

That 1st half is a warning that if we get another midfield injury whilst Nasri is out we will be in trouble. I wouldn't buy for such short term reasons, but we are very vulnerable over the next 3-4 weeks. Thankfully we can play weakened teams in the League and FA Cup games which eats into Nasri recovery time

Not necessarily... Vidal, Pogba, Chiellini, Tevez, Mangala, Otamendi, Fernando (and the 'other' Fernando at Shakhtar who is like Fernandinho), Jackson Martinez, Alex Sandro, Matic, Garay, Douglas Costa, Salah, Higuain, Hamsik... all play for teams out of the Champions League. Of course, many aren't available, though. :P

I might be wrong but, I believe once they have played for one team they are cup-tied and can't play for another. regardless if the former team is still in competition or not

-------------------------------------

I double checked and I am right
<a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cup-tied" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cup-tied</a>
you can play in champions league and then transfer to a team in the Europa league and play in it as long as the club that has sold you are not in the Europa league as well but if the selling team either stay in the champions league or go out of Europe altogether then you are good to play if selected in the squad but only one of the three possible registered players for the knockout squad can have done this and it works with Europa to champions league as well but not two teams in the same competition regardless if the selling club have been knocked out or not so City couldn't buy a cska Moscow player and play him even though Moscow are out of the champions league

correct. my point was all Juve and Shakhtar and Porto and napoli and......players are cup-tied for UCL this season

No point buying people in January. Anyone good enough is playing in the CL for other teams.

This is true, but that wasn't the point... it was that good players are available in January.

And even if they aren't eligible for the CL, we have just 2 games scheduled in that competition (and many in others), and there is a fair chance we may not play anymore after those. If we do, we've already gone further than many expected.

DM quoted him saying:

‘During the whole of January we will see what happens, all the clubs can do transfers, but I am not interested in one name especially. I don’t say nothing about it.’
